iOS 8 Exchange Email no longer Pushes

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5 my exchange email has gone silent. I no longer get emails pushed to my phone (whether on WiFi or LTE). Instead, I have to open up the Mail application and it will then update with new emails.

I have reset the phone and checked the settings. Nothing is different, but exchange emails do not push to my iPhone 5 any longer using iOS 8.

Is there a fix for this, or will this require a new release?

I had the same problem with IOS 8.1 and exchange it appeared out of nowhere. I tried several solutions mentioned above.

What worked for me was to disable the mail and enableling it again.

Settings- mail, contacts, calendars - accounts (select the mail account) - mail , turn off ( go to mail) and turn on again.

mail days to sync is set to 30 days.

after this all my mail was synced again and has been syncing so far.

I have done it all. Deleted all of the email accounts, added them back on, including the exchange accounts, checked the push, etc., etc. Works for a week, and then I have to do it all over again. I am so done with apple. Want to cancel all the phones in the family. It is an obvious IOS8 error and they aren't offering a fix. I have looked and looked. I don't have time to go into the mall to see a 'genius.' This is my busy time. I am a genius in my own profession. Give me the fix, or give me my walkin' papers and I'll find a brand that is more transparent with their bug fixes. Done, done, done.

We were able to resolve this issue in our corporate environment by making a change to our Microsoft Threat management Gateway that proxies email to and from our MDM gateway and ActiveSync. I first disabled the flood mitigation setting, and things started working. I've since doubled the connection requests and things seem to be fine as well.

Just a suggestion

kenb12s solution worked for me (mostly).

It's worth noting that I have two mail accounts on my phone, a gmail, and a corporate exchange. I only had problems with corp exchange (well gmail is fetch only). Gmail seemed to default have the option to show on notifications screens, corp exchange did not, which is weird because it did before new iphone6/upgrade to iOS8.

I'm still having trouble with push notifications for nested folders. I have mail rules set to sort a lot of my e-mails into category folders. In the past I could go in and chose which folders I wanted to get push updates for and which I didn't. While I can put the checks in front of the correct folders, I'm not getting the pushes when the e-mails come in still, only inbox seems to be working. Really annoying...

I'am having the same problem as Dinner4JC on corporate Exchange.

I too have many sub-folders with rules on some, not all. For push I can only select (check mark) 3-4 of the subfolders. Actually I can select all of them, but as soon as i exit the selections are gone except for those few.

This has been happening since ios8 on my iPhone 6. We use Exchange server 2007.

Mine is working now. I'm still not ultimately sure what finally fixed it since this was weeks ago now. Things I know I had to do:

1. Under notifications > mail > it allows you to treat each mail separately, I know my settings were wrong for my corporate mail but correct for my gmail.

2. I deleted and re-synced my account with my company, I think this is what fixed the nest folder checks not working, still not really sure what the cause was there.

I did some of the other things listed but those were the ones that I believe fixed my issues.

I had the same problem with my new iPhone 6 running iOS 8.1.3. At the same time everything was working well with my old iPhone 5S and my iPad Air.

This one helped in my case:

1. Deleted the mail account..

2. Shut down my iPhone 6.

3. Changed my password in Outlook OWA.

4. Turned my iPhone 6 on again.

5. Re-configured the mail account with the new password.

Hope this helpes you guys that are having trouble with iOS 8 Push.

Well after some time I still getting no push notifications on my e-mail with Exchange.

I'm using Google Apps so a Google support technician suggested that I turn on notifications for the Gmail app. I did that and most of the time I get notifications for both the Gmail app and for the built-in Apple mail. There are times, however, that I only get notification with the Gmail app. There is still a problem but it does seem a little better in 8.2.

Ugh!
