iOS 8 Exchange Email no longer Pushes

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5 my exchange email has gone silent. I no longer get emails pushed to my phone (whether on WiFi or LTE). Instead, I have to open up the Mail application and it will then update with new emails.

I have reset the phone and checked the settings. Nothing is different, but exchange emails do not push to my iPhone 5 any longer using iOS 8.

Is there a fix for this, or will this require a new release?

I Deleted and re-connected my email. No contacts seem to be lost, and I'm finally getting my email. I still have issues with my phone randomly freezing and kicking me out of places, and when I delete email, it pops back up in my inbox sometimes 2 or 3 times. It's aggrabating to have to keep deleting the sams email. It hhappens with text messages also. Apple has really ruined my phone with those updates. I've been an iPhone owner for a while, but I think it's time to change.

This exchange account was set up with gmail - found below link which I think says gmail using exchange was "turned off for new accounts".

I'm guessing that with new phone, it would not let gmail exchange work - but it sent email, just sync contacts.

Regardless, I turned to "regular google" setup, not exchange, and it seems to be working. Of course, I lost contact edits on my new iPhone I made since getting the phone.

Of all the bugs I get with IOS 8.02, the biggest headaches are in Mail program. Hopefully will get better with 8.1, supposedly coming out today.

If everything else mentioned here fails and you are specifying a Outlook Web server URL as the Exchange server in iOS, i.e., outlookweb.domain.com, check the number of devices you have registered with the Outlook Web server. Unknown to most of us, there is a limit of 10 mobile phones a user can sync with an Outlook Web server. If you try to register the 11th, you will get an email from "Outlook" addressed to your Exchange email address that says:

Subject: Error with your new mobile phone partnership
You have 10 phone partnerships out of the maximum allowed 10 partnerships. After you reach the maximum, you can't create additional partnerships until you delete existing ones from your account. To do so, sign in to Outlook Web App, click Options > Phone > Mobile Phones, and delete any unused partnerships.

Check your junk mail since it may have ended up in there. If you did get it, you have to drill down through "more options" in Outlook Web to find the Phone menu. Once I deleted my old devices, I was able to sync with no problems. BTW, if you have more than one iPhone/iPad registered, you can highlight each one and click on "details" to figure out which is which since they are all listed as just iPhone/iPad.

My thanks to scrateef on the MacRumors iOS8 forum for this information.

Please link solution. Push works on my iPad mini, iPad Air, iPhone 6 but NOT on my iPhone 5. I tried everything listed below:

1) Reset iPhone

2) Delete Exchange e-mail Account (this worked for a few hours and stopped, never worked again after)

3) Change Password

4) Kenb recommendation:

1. From Home Screen Settings->Notifications->Mail

2. Choose Exchange Email

3.Turn on "Show on Lock Screen"

5) Added the account to other devices all work fine except the iPhone 5.

The iPhone accepts the Account when added. Then it does not sync. When i send out a test e-mail it says "The message was rejected by the server".

I can't get it to work with the iPhone 5.

I too was having this issue on my iPhone 6+ - running iOS 8.1 with my email accounts using Exchange. The emails would not load unless I opened the Mail app. I followed one suggestion in this thread that has worked like a charm.

1. Delete the Exchange account

2. Hard reset your phone (hold power+home button until apple shows up)

3. Add Exchange account back in.

My emails are loading just as they should now.

Good luck all! I know how frustrating this is! o_O
