iOS 8 Exchange Email no longer Pushes

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5 my exchange email has gone silent. I no longer get emails pushed to my phone (whether on WiFi or LTE). Instead, I have to open up the Mail application and it will then update with new emails.

I have reset the phone and checked the settings. Nothing is different, but exchange emails do not push to my iPhone 5 any longer using iOS 8.

Is there a fix for this, or will this require a new release?

I've been having two issues (both iPhone 5s)

- No push

- Email account for one user would not download email (despite having erased all content, downloading over 3G, removing email account etc, all the suggested solutions)

The fix for me was to go on to the Exchange server and restart the WWW service (which relates to the w3wp.exe). Once I did this, I erased both phones completely, and issues on both phones were fixed. That is push started working on one phone, and the other started downloading emails from scratch again.

Hope this helps someone

I originally tried several of the suggestions in this thread to no avail. Then, for no apparent reason, I began to receive push emails to my exchange account and this lasted up until late last night/early this morning.

As of this morning, I am no longer getting push emails and I'm back to square one. I've tried the suggestions again and nothing has worked.

I've tried each of the suggestions in this thread, with no success. The problem is spreading, one by one, to other devices: first it was iOS8 Mail on my iPad, then OSX Mail on my laptop. (So far iOS8 Mail on my iPhone hasn't been affected--knock wood.)

But on both iDevice platforms, third-party software works just fine. (I have not yet tried it for OSX Mail. This may be the straw that forces me to a third-party client.)

We have the same problem with one of out iPhone 5s and Exchange 2010. Out of all our device this is the only one having this issue.

The device is a iPhone 5, recently updated to iOS 8.0.2 from 7

our mail server is an Exchange 2010 server.

Symptoms:

Email app works, email is displayed, but when you open a email to read to receive the message, "This message has not been downloaded from the server."

Browsing the folder structure of the Exchange is not present at all.

in account settings the Automatic Reply displays "Loading..."

On the Exchange server there are no specific event logs to indicate a problem, besides the usual Event ID 1040 "The average of the most recent heartbeat intervals [538] for request [Sync] used by clients is less than or equal to [540]."

What we have tried:

If you remove the account and add it back in it works fine for about a day, then it falls back to the above problems.

We have done this everyday for a week now.

Changed most of the settings in account setup to no success.

Restarted the phone every step of the way.

Removed the ActiveSync record in Exchange for the user account and let it recreate upon connection again.

Nothing has worked yet.

Again this is one iPhone 5 with this problem in a list of devices ranging from iPhones including 4, 4S, 5, 5S, 6, and iPad.

If we have any breakthroughs, I'll post.

Just wanted to document the problem.

I have the same problem. Tried re-entering the password. Tried the Push / Fetch switch. No luck.

Here's my dilemma: if I delete the account on my iPhone and re-establish, what will happen to contact information changes I made on the iPhone ?

I have my contacts syncing with a Gmail account using Exchange. Used to be if I made a contact information change (added notes, changed phone, etc), it would synchronize across the gmail account, my iPad, and iPhone.

Now with lousy IOS 8, changes only synchronize properly between the gmail account and my iPad. The changes do not show up on the iPhone.

But for weeks now I have been adding notes to contacts on my iphone - if I delete and re-enter this account, will I lose all these edits ?

Anything else I can do ?
