No SIM card installed keeps popping up

I Still get the error message after trying to change restrictions to 'don't change'. Didn't have this before ios8

However I also had to do a complete reboot by holding the power and home buttons for a few seconds.

I also did the 8.0.2 update which may have had an effect.

No pop ups so far.

i do what you say at least once every day, I'm on iOS 8.0.2, and I've already made several reboots too, but it doesn't work at all. The pop-ups are still there.

Same here - it's very annoying!

If you toggle the Airplane mode on and off you'll notice it pops up the 'No SIM.." message each time.

Try rebooting (power + home buttons) with Airplane mode ON and wifi OFF.

If that doesn't work you'll just have to wait for Apple to sort out the bugs.

Incidentally, I read elsewhere it might be worth rolling back to IOS7 and then reinstalling iOS8 through iTune.

I have this problem too. I normally don't have a SIM card installed in my iPad Air unless travelling. Was never a problem in iOS 7, I'd only see the no SIM message upon first booting up. But as soon as I updated to iOS 8, I started getting them frequently, often just when doing a google search or browsing the web, or at various other random times. very annoying

After the latest update the popups stoped!!! I hope this happened to everyone!!

I was helped by inserting an obsolete SIM card and then switch off cellular data. I've no other use of this card so I left it in. No dialogue boxes now.

Unless you have access to something more than iOS 8.0.2 or have tried some other workaround, no way - updating to iOS 8.0.2 is not enough.

Another one with this fault. On IOS 7 it only happened once after a reboot then no more.

Same problem continues after upgrading to iOS 8.0.2. The No SIM Card Installed popup continues to appear every few minutes or even when apps are launched.

Apple! why? I know perfectly well that my iPad Mini doesn't have a SIM card without needing a constant system reminder. Hope you're reading this thread. It seems like this peculiar bug isn't an isolated one.

It looks like this worked for me:

Settings => Privacy => Location Services => System Services

Here's a list of what I turned off. Although I believe the main offender is Cell Network Search, while some of them just seem creepy to me.

• Frequent Locations
• Diagnostics & Usage
• Popular Near Me

@nsmeta - well I can tell you it's not Cell Network Search, or Location-Based iAds that causes it

I just checked and I already had these turned off long ago, and yet I'm still getting the no SIM card message popping up in iOS 8.0.2

some of the other items you mention I do have turned on, maybe you have something here with Location Services behaving differently in IOS8...

The messages seem to pop up most often in Safari, or opening up a Youtube video, but other seemingly random times in other apps or in the home screen.
