iOS 8 5s iCloud keeps asking for Password

Your symptoms as described usually indicate an intermittent wi-fi connection issue, not a hardware or iOS issue.

Got a new iPhone from the apple store last week (iPhone6) - since then this come up everytime I try to send and email or randomly when Im viewing photos.
It's also removed my 'check spelling' option randomly overnight and my keyboard shortcuts just wont sync via iCloud.

So annoying.

All the steps people have suggested on these forums just do NOT work!

I have had this on-going problem with my ipad air, my two imacs, and my iphone. I have been locked out, had to change my password 3X over a week. I am trying your solution but I hate the thoiught of cookies tracking me.

I have the same problem. Most that report it say that they have an iPhone 5S. I have an iPhone 6, so I guess it is not isolated to that model. In addition, it happens mainly when composing a new email, but occasionally manifests itself while using other apps.

I do not want cookies to be accepted at all times and signing off iTunes and back on my phone did not work. The reason it doesn't is most likely because my iTunes and iCloud are not the same. For now I guess I will just wait for a fix to this issue.

Step 1 worked for me; I had to do some finagling afterward but I don't know what I did.

My iCloud password was requested constantly. I would click 'cancel' to try to get back to a different screen to try to get ahead of it. I would have less than one second between requests - the phone was out of service for all practical purposes.

I eventually managed to fit 'go back' into the time available and then navigate to reset. Then voila!

Make sure in Mail Prefs that iCloud Advanced tab has Apple Token in the Authentication field.

If not take the option from drop down. Anything else in this field & you will constantly be asked for a password.

My computer I can locate prefs on and iit it correct. Where and how do I get to prefs on the ipad and iphone? Thanks.

Anyway....... - Settings > iCloud >Advanced >Mail>SMTP>iCloud SMTP Server (Click the ON)>Authentication should be set to Apple Token.

Apple Token is the default. Users are not changing that. However, just in case you were right, I checked those settings. Just to let you know they are on Apple Token. I am sure everyone else's is.

I m not afraid of exploration which believe me I try very hard before asking anybody for help but I take you guys literally and as you showed me in this email their ARE no ipad or iphone Preferences...they are in settings.

For me there was a iTunes account and a iCloud account. I had to enter in the iTunes account information then it went away

settings > iTunes & App Store
