iPhone 6, bad signal strength

I got new iPhone 6 yesterday. I am with Rogers. Used to get all 5 signals on my old iPhone 4S. But iPhone 6 shows just 2 or 3 signal bars on LTE/3G.

I am not sure if this is something wrong with my iPhone 6 hardware, is somebody also experiencing the same problem?

We are unable to make calls in places we could make them before and the downlaod speeds are slower with the lower signal the phones seemd to be getting. As soon as the LTE is turned off the phones get full signal in places the older versions receieved full signal. There are too many forums with folks having the same issues. I'll wait a bit to see if there is a solution, but since this issue has been around since ios8 release I'm not looking for a fix anytime soon.

I've recently talked with tech support at Verizon and am now told that the issue is with not all towers being updated to XLTE and the 5s and 6 being XLTE capable phones. This seems to be the case for us since all of our phones that are pre 5s still recieve the same strong signal in places where they have always had the strong signal. There are spots where the XLTE capable phones will match signal strength with the non-XLTE phones and common sense says those spots must be near towers that have been upgraded.

I am having the same problem with new iPhone 6 and AT&T in downtown Dayton, OH. Previous iPhones 4s, 5, and 5s had better signal strength. I was going to ask Apple to swap the phone for another iPhone 6, but now I see it won't help. I found the field test to be revealing if you are interested: http://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-see-your-iphones-true-cell-signal-strength -2014-11 Thank you to all of you for your helpful posts.

I am having the same issue...I upgraded from a 4S to a 6. I live in rural East Texas and having enough signal strength to send or receive a regular text was always an issue with the 4S but there are a couple of spots in my house that I could always depend on to grab a bar or two of service---enough to receive or send a text out. Now there is nothing...I have turned off LTE and still no luck. I have also noticed in driving in this area that places I could always depend on in the past to have signal, no longer do. I really wish I had my 4S back.

Hello kamran sorry to hear about your issues along with many other iPhone 6 users with same issue , I too had this issue tried everything from restore to reset network you name it I tried it so here's the fix , ok so I noticed I was having no service a lot and would only pick up very rarely searching so what I thought it must be a hardware fault as I tried everything everyone said and still nothing , so I decided to buy a new charging port and this is where things started to make sense so I got a new charging port and replaced it with a really cheap one say $4 but came with rusty tools and the charging port came without the two silver brackets which ground to phone , anyway fix it to phone and cappow sesrching come up and finally 1 bar of signal showed so my wife took it by window and signal was a bit stronger but still not as good as before so I bought an oem charging port which was $12 and this time came with the two silver brackets and could tell it was genuine anyway fitted this and what do you know full 5 signal bars 🙂 so honestly if you are out of warranty and can't fix signal issues I guarantee you this will fix it I know no one would expect this part to fail because my phone was still charging with no issues but it's the antenna wire connected to charging port that has failed if you have no signal or searching for network issues
