Car Bluetooth Connectivity Issue with iPhone 6

ugh 2 months still wont work, I wonder if apple is even aware of this issue. My next phone WILL be a Galaxy. Im done with apple crap.

Same problem-I phone 6 and 2012 Mercedes ES 550. No solution.......waiting for Apple.

You are going to have a very long wait, because there's nothing wrong at the iPhone end. The solutions that worked have already been posted in this thread. Most of the time it is simply that the car was not in Discoverable mode for the initial pairing. so that's a good place to start. On the phone go to Settings/BlueTooth. If the car is displayed tap on it and Forget it. Then go to the car's settings. Having the car's manual handy will be very helpful here. Delete any phones connected. Both for audio and for cell phone connection. Then make sure the car is in Pairing mode (check the manual). They should see each other, and there should be a message to enter a code on the iPhone to complete the pairing.

iOS iPhone : Bluetooth to car:

1- Tell car to look for bluetooth device, while that is happening

2- iPhone: Bluetooth ON: You must LOOK at Bluetooth window

3- When your car shows up in the iPhone bluetooth window then Select it.

4- ONLY then will the two connect

5- Select PAIR, accept VERIFICATION PIN.

You should be up and running.

Tried it repeatedly...nothing shows up in the I phone Bluetooth window

If the car says "searching for iPhone" that means that you have not deleted the iPhone from the car's memory. And probably did not put the car into Discoverable (pairing) mode. You need to read the manual for the car, clear the car's memory of paired devices, then put the car's system into Pairing mode.

I have tried everything. A new twist is that my phone today connected and disconnected over a dozen times. Im stuck with the crap iphone for 2 more years.

Posted this on many threads since iOS8 release and yet still the problem remains, even in the latest 8.1.1 update. Very disappointing. 2013 Outlander and it pairs and audio works fine just wont commence audio though car on calls - very dangerous as have to manually select hands-free. Taken to Mitsubishi and they don't care stating it worked in iOS 7 (which it did) and that it must be Apple's issue.

got excited yesterday with ANOTHER update. No wait, still doesn't work. Apple is a joke.

Not suggesting it is not an Apple issue but SOMEONE needs to correct it ASAP as it is crippling for me. I have had to buy a 3rd party device and sacrafice all the inbuilt convenience ...all in my 1 year old car. It is not much to expect Apple to maintain legacy support for a 1 year old car is it?

2014 Maserati Quattroporte and have no connectivity issues with the iPhone 6. Wife has a 2014 Mercedes C300 with the Audio 20 system but I haven't tried pairing with her car yet.

Have you made sure the your car software is up to date? Many people have reported that car manufactures have made available newer software updates that help also connectivity wise.

How do you do that. It's a one year old car

Call your car manufacturer's "Customer Care" number and ask. Toyota sent me a thumb drive with an update when I called.

But before you do that get out the owner's manual and read carefully the BlueTooth pairing instructions. Most of the time BT problems are a result of not following the instructions to the letter.
