I installed iOS8 on my iPhone 4S and iPad mini and now iTunes (11.4 (18)) on my iMac no longer sees these devices unless I attach them via USB. I have tried rebooting the router, the Mac and the devices. I have reinstalled iTunes. I have checked that the appropriate settings for wifi sync are correctly set on all machines. Any suggestions?

Worked once, for about 90 minutes. Now the "fix" doesn't work anymore. So no more sync over wifi in iOS8 (my iOS7 devices all show up perfectly).
Doesn't work for me (iPhone 5S, iOS 8.1.2 + MBP Retina 10.10.1 + iTunes 12.0.1). This "turn off - turn on" has worked in the past, but doing so each time I need my phone to sync wirelessly is frikin' ludicrous. Get this fixed Apple! Good gosh!
Restarts and "Off - On" doesn't fix it long term. If I have to do that every time, I'll hook up with the USB cord. The point of WiFi sync is speed and convenience, not time spent scouring discussion boards and performing reboots.
Yes, it is inconvenient, but I only have to restart every 7 or 8 days or so. During that week it works as it did before with iOS 7 and Maverick. (Now I'm running 8.1.2 and Yosemite.)
The iPhone is in a Mophie case, so I don't want to pull the base off every day to use the Lightning cord.
I have set iTunes to open on startup, so as long as the phone is charging it will sync. It will even sync wirelessly if it is charging from the Mophie battery, a truly cordless sync.
Apple needs to fix this before I buy a 6s. I won't buy a 6.
