iPhone 6 Plus Keeps Crashing PLEASE HELP!

I am a huge Apple fan, so I ask this question wishing and hoping my iPhone 6 Plus would just perform the way I know it should be.

Since restoring from my old iPhone 5S backup onto my 6 Plus 128GB (AT&T) running iOS 8.0, my 6 Plus is laggy (animations are very slow and stutter), freezy (after hitting "done" it often freezes for a good five seconds before registering the click), buggy (the keyboard sometimes doesn't appear at all, the "halos" around the folders on the home screen sometimes appear and sometimes don't, seems totally arbitrary), and crashy (whenever doing certain tasks like fast app switching, trying to change wallpaper, and others, the phone crashes, turns off the radios, then shows the Apple screen before rebooting). The crashing is happening once every five to ten minutes, making the phone VERY FRUSTRATING TO USE.

I have tried manually restarting the phone, HOME + SLEEP reset to the Apple screen, and restoring again...My next step is a factory reset and manual reinstallation of all my apps again, which is making me sick just thinking about it...

All of these things scream SOFTWARE to me, but what do I know...is anyone else experiencing these issues on the 6 Plus? Should I just be waiting for an OS update, or did I just get a lemon phone? As I said, I love Apple, and this is not a post to flame (so please save your "Go buy an Android" for someone who cares). I just want my shiny new phone to work!!! Any help is appreciated.

What I suspect is happening is the 1GB of RAM that the iOS uses is not enough for 128GB devices.

Note that all your programs load on startup, thus the long boot time. They have to load so the location tracking and notifications work in the background.

Just like Windows, when too many programs are open the "virtual memory" gets to low and the Windows Machine goes nuts.

The iOS must also track/index Music, Photos, Videos etc which I why I do not believe you can say this WILL happen at x apps....I believe it is a combination of all factors.

Unfortunately, that is something an iOS update will not correct, unless the iOS System is completely rewritten to take more than 1GB.

Now, this STILL does not explain it completely, as many with 64GB devices loaded down with essentially the mirror image of what is on the 128GB devices are NOT having the issue.

Thus there is something different about how the hardware is controlling the memory...which unfortunately, is probably chip related.

As 2 different things are causing errors, this is why it so hard for normal people to figure out the issue - even though I suspect Apple has a good grip on what the issue is - which is why they are essentially ignoring it at the higher levels (Engineering).

I returned my 128GB iPhone 6 Plus to my local Verizon store on the 13th day for a full refund, and took the $35 restocking fee hit. What infuriates me the most is after paying the full price of $1033.11 for a premium device only to find out that the product is flawed and was rushed to market. Whether it be hardware or software the iPhone 6/6+ is untested and incomplete device, from the botched 8.01 update to bendgate and the performance hit on the 6 plus I feel that Apple did not give this device much thought before releasing it to the public.

When I pay over $1000 for a premium product I expect it to be perfect in every way, if Apple is going to release a half baked product with buggy software then it's no longer a premium product but a mediocre overpriced product based on brand image.

Can someone explain to me the design philosophy at Apple when it comes to Reachability? Why implement Reachability in software when the most important thing, hardware, is not reachable? Did Apple even put in consideration that people buying the iPhone 6/6+ are mostly people coming from the iPhone 4s/5s, where everything was reachable with one hand operation? Why put the power and volume buttons directly opposite of each other? Whenever I press the volume button I squeeze the power button as well and vice versa. Why couldn't Apple designers make the power and volume buttons reachable with one hand? All they had to do was move the power and volume buttons lower and to one side. Or they could have left the power button where it was, on top, it was perfect the way it was.

Also, doesn't Apple know when you increase the resolution performance takes a big hit? All gamers know when you increase resolution and don't upgrade the gpu performance is going to take a hit. Using the same chip in the 6 and 6 plus was a mistake as 6 plus users are reporting that their phones feel slow, sluggish and unresponsive compared to the 6.

Guess I'm going to wait this one out and stick to my 5, until they release the 6s or 7 (whatever they want to call it) with software issues resolved and hardware issues addressed and if these issues still aren't addressed by the next iPhone guess it'll be time for me to painfully move away from iPhones.

Many things crash my iPhone 6 Plus 64GB… Making a phone call from my Mac, through the iPhone, sends it into a frenzy of partial crashes. FaceTime often crashes the phone. Going into Settings / General / Usage / Manage Storage / Music / then scroll down through my albums, crashes settings every time.

Apple Support wants me to do a Factory Reset, but I'm reluctant knowing how many hours it'll take me to rebuild everything, with no guarantee that it'll be any better after all that work.

iphone 6 - 128GB

I Did face some of that random reboots a while ago, they were quicker than a normal reboot so it didn't really bother me first place.

however, today I have cleaned up my spotify playlists with several gigabytes of downloaded / offline available music in that device.

SInce now, the device goes mad partly:

NNearly all pictures and videos in my iMessages are gone. There's only a placeholder with a question mark. Same in the single message overview of details. No more media available. Only placeholder with ?

ALso my ios email app goes mad. The menu buttons on top left, disappear randomly and don't function as they should.

TRied reboot, two button reboot. Nothing.

At the usage screen in settings, messages uses only 5mb. So I am afraid all pictures gone.

That would fit to a flash controller issue or iOS issue thats going around.

Rick, excellent link that you posted: http://www.macnn.com/articles/14/11/08/is.the.1000.app.limit.storage.size.or.qua ntity.of.file.related/

It is far more in depth than my own testing earlier, but draws the same conclusion really.

I do take issue with Macnn's "Apple-friendly" conclusion that it is a non-issue stirred up by a competitor! Ridiculous statement that undermined all their good work.

I have the same issue with my iPhone 6. I'm very disenchanted with the sluggishness of the iOS. I have many issues with my iphone. I restored the image I had from my iPhone 5. The phone crashes a lot in several apps including the camera app while in messaging. I'll take a horizontal picture and then turn the phone vertical to send the message and the messaging app crashes.

Major issues with that so called impartial test.

1) 25%-30% of the "story" is opinion that no one needs more than 30 apps. It is a if the reviewer had made up their mind prior and looked to prove his hypothesis. This would never fly in scientific testing.

2) Reports that 900 Apps take up 45 Homescreens. As the iOS is limited to displaying 15 Homescreens, it make one question how the reviewer tested all these Apps. Apparently they just loaded without the use of folders, which clearly could be part of the issue.

3) His explanation fails to explain how a 64GB iPhone 5 loaded with 1450 Apps under iOS 8 works perfectly, but a 128GB device with iOS 8, same apps (except iPad App subbed for iPhone App where applicable), same Homescreen and Folder layout results in crashes and crazy behavior - especially since iPhone 5 has processor twice removed from current generation.

It is bad to say that problem is in 6 or 6+ devices. I have a 5s 64gb and crash every times... I have 2 reboots in the past half an hour...

In 7.1.2 works preety good... With iOS 8 cames the problem..

All apps (for example whatsapp or facebook or twitter, which works fine in most of devices) CRASH ON STARTUP. And the reboots are very frecuently...

You guys have 1 year warranty to waits wondering its a software problem (that its probably) but i only have 60 days, and i wont waits a software update, because noone confirm that a software update solve my problems...

Because that in a few days i bring my phone back to an applestore and change to another one.

I restored several times to iOS 8, 8.1 and 8.0.2, sometimes in normal mode and sometimes in dfu, nothing works.

In crash reports the most of them sais EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION (SIGILL) or EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS).

I dont know what is that, and if its releated with this errors in TLC NAND FLASH MEMORY... Please help Apple!!!!!!!
