iPhone 6 Plus Keeps Crashing PLEASE HELP!

I am a huge Apple fan, so I ask this question wishing and hoping my iPhone 6 Plus would just perform the way I know it should be.

Since restoring from my old iPhone 5S backup onto my 6 Plus 128GB (AT&T) running iOS 8.0, my 6 Plus is laggy (animations are very slow and stutter), freezy (after hitting "done" it often freezes for a good five seconds before registering the click), buggy (the keyboard sometimes doesn't appear at all, the "halos" around the folders on the home screen sometimes appear and sometimes don't, seems totally arbitrary), and crashy (whenever doing certain tasks like fast app switching, trying to change wallpaper, and others, the phone crashes, turns off the radios, then shows the Apple screen before rebooting). The crashing is happening once every five to ten minutes, making the phone VERY FRUSTRATING TO USE.

I have tried manually restarting the phone, HOME + SLEEP reset to the Apple screen, and restoring again...My next step is a factory reset and manual reinstallation of all my apps again, which is making me sick just thinking about it...

All of these things scream SOFTWARE to me, but what do I know...is anyone else experiencing these issues on the 6 Plus? Should I just be waiting for an OS update, or did I just get a lemon phone? As I said, I love Apple, and this is not a post to flame (so please save your "Go buy an Android" for someone who cares). I just want my shiny new phone to work!!! Any help is appreciated.

While it may be nonsense to you, I've a very expensive iPhone 6 Plus, 128GB of RAM, that crashes running the simplest of apps and that has few apps on it to begin with. If TLC NAND is in fact used, then it is certainly a candidate for the problem. Nothing can be excluded. Also troubling is that, in the most expensive phone, Apple may have used the slowest and cheapest memory. See http://www.speedguide.net/faq/slc-mlc-or-tlc-nand-for-solid-state-drives-406

iPhone 6 (128 GB) and iPhone 6 Plus (128 GB) come with NAND flash memory from different manufacturers. Your iPhone Plus is powered by SK Hynix (E2NAND3.0 already used in 5s) and our iPhones are powered by SanDisk.

Some more details (already posted six or seven weeks ago). We have two brand new iPhones 6 (128GB). Not the 'Plus' version. Ordered on 9/19 and received on 9/29. iPhone #1 works fine without any problem. iPhone #2 crashed and rebooted "automatically" 20+ times per day. Blue and red screens, WiFi problems, etc. It rebooted during a phone call, when you pressed the Home button, when you started apps, and so on. Both iPhones restored from 5s (32GB) backups (via MacBook Pro 15" Retina late-2013). Not more than 50 apps installed. 100+ GB free. We had a Genius Bar appointment and the Apple guy whispered in his micro: "I have again a customer with error 1xx" (I don't remember the exact error number). Then we got a replacement and this iPhone 6 works fine (with the very same 5s backup restored). Not any crash.

IMO, it's not the backup that caused the problem and it's not caused by the NAND flash from SK Hynix per-se.

Hi, if this is in fact true that Apple have used a slower flash memory in the 128GB iPhone 6 plus then it is a tragedy. And...... if said memory is the cause of the reported crashing and rebooting of the iPhone, then I'm afraid the legal term here should be " Not fit for purpose" . As such, the iPhone should be exchanged by Apple for a item that is fully functional and able to carry out the intended tasks it has been built for and "marketed' as been able to perform.

Given that the consumer law would cover such an occurrence ( in the UK at least) then Apple should abide by such trading laws and either exchange the product or give a full refund.

The fact that Apple have allegedly said that they have found that the flash memory is not performing as it should, and that they are going to use another type of flash memory for future production, could be construed as an open admission on their part, that the iiPhones containing the suspect flash memory are not fit for purpose and should be replaced or a refund offered.

Six or seven weeks ago, there was not much information available with regards to this issue (only very few similar messages). So at that time there was no reason to test it (good idea, btw). I was more than happy that Apple gave us a new device because this was a very frustrating experience. We restored the new iPhone 6 (128 GB) from the same 5s (32 GB) backup and haven't had a single crash since then.

I had my apt yesterday and was told to restart from a sync, not a back up because it was a springboard error causing my reboots. Just did the new start with no back up, fresh everything, and already the Facebook app is giving me trouble. Less then 5 mins later. What a shame. They didn't offer me a new phone. Guess I'm back to apple store on Monday. Great!

No one (at least to anyone's knowledge) has actually opened up a 128GB iphone or ipad to actually examine (and take a picture to confirm or deny) the 128GB is MLC or TLC.

The only one that knows for sure is Apple and they are silent on the issue.

Quite frankly, I find this surprising because of the site(s) that have tested the memory, but have not taken the simply procedure of taking the back off and examining the memory.

Likewise, there has been nothing to suggest that Apple would change memory types mid-year.

Only thing that is certain is 128GB certainly have issues, whether iPad or iPhone - and iPads have had the issue since the beginning of iOS 7.0 which would seem to point to the issue is not iOS 8.x.

I have the same issue with an iPhone 6 Plus 128 GB and Apple send me a replacement iPhone a the beginning it was better but after a couple of days is started crashing worse. This seems to be happening all the time. As well as the Springboard crashes a lot. I tried 8.1.1 and it put my iPhone into a content loop of crashing. 😠
