iPhone 6 Plus Keeps Crashing PLEASE HELP!

I am a huge Apple fan, so I ask this question wishing and hoping my iPhone 6 Plus would just perform the way I know it should be.

Since restoring from my old iPhone 5S backup onto my 6 Plus 128GB (AT&T) running iOS 8.0, my 6 Plus is laggy (animations are very slow and stutter), freezy (after hitting "done" it often freezes for a good five seconds before registering the click), buggy (the keyboard sometimes doesn't appear at all, the "halos" around the folders on the home screen sometimes appear and sometimes don't, seems totally arbitrary), and crashy (whenever doing certain tasks like fast app switching, trying to change wallpaper, and others, the phone crashes, turns off the radios, then shows the Apple screen before rebooting). The crashing is happening once every five to ten minutes, making the phone VERY FRUSTRATING TO USE.

I have tried manually restarting the phone, HOME + SLEEP reset to the Apple screen, and restoring again...My next step is a factory reset and manual reinstallation of all my apps again, which is making me sick just thinking about it...

All of these things scream SOFTWARE to me, but what do I know...is anyone else experiencing these issues on the 6 Plus? Should I just be waiting for an OS update, or did I just get a lemon phone? As I said, I love Apple, and this is not a post to flame (so please save your "Go buy an Android" for someone who cares). I just want my shiny new phone to work!!! Any help is appreciated.

I had 17 apps, yes I said 17, on my iPhone 6 Plus and it crashed, froze, made phone calls, played movies and music - all without my assistance. On top of all the issues, it wouldn't even make a good boomarang - and believe me when I say i REALLY wanted to throw it! I did receive a third replacement phone but don't want to say too much as I'm sure I will jinx it 🙂

Phone 128GB unlocked, verizon, running AT&T services.

Store: Lehigh Valley Mall 18015, PA

Mine happened even with after update to 8.3; I create the service ticket and wasting my time to a so called genius bar without any help; the guy at genius bar simply do nothing and told me to go back and refresh the phone.

He told me that it MIGHT be a memory full issue;

I did and the freezing is less now but the random restart when plugging in to iTunes. I ran out of patient and already post the phone for sell; I have used iPhone since the 3GS and this situation is feel like my crappy on Blackberry software/os && random frozen issues.

IT IS NOT A CORRUPTED BACKUP OR APP. IT IS THE NUMBER OF APPS INSTALLED.

I have just completed a successful restore onto my new iPhone 6 128GB(not the 6 Plus). No hic-ups, No crashing. The iPhone 6 is running smoooothly.

The backup that I had used was exactly the same backup that I had used back in November last year. The backup that once restored onto my 6 plus 128GB would crash it continuously. It had about 1300 apps.

Consider also the fact that even when I was doing a clean install a few weeks ago on the 6 plus, it started to crash continuously once I had installed over the cursed number of 700-800 apps.

The only conclusion that I can draw is that it had absolutely nothing to do with a corrupted backup or app as Apple had claimed. Wasted literally hundreds of hours redoing and redoing backups and attempting and attempting restores (both through iTune and iCloud), and manually re-installation each apps times and times over. We have been given the run around.

Basically, I had a few more apps on my 6Plus than my 5S, simply because at&t/Apple gifted them on the new phone. It worked the first few weeks fine. Occasionally it seemed not to respond. Then I plugged my headset in and the thing never worked correctly again. I believe it is a hardware issue. One person only had 17 apps, so you would have to track which app is the problem if it is an app problem.

Anyway, I went to the dark side. There is a learning curve and I had to repurchase some apps, but it works.

I'm sorry, this is not meant to be a reply but an add-on in case anyone at Apple decides to care...

I've had this problem for a long time now. It starts off only spontaneously rebooting maybe once or twice a day until it's up to like 20 times in half an hour. I took my phone to the Apple store and they replaced it for me. I loaded my backed up files and it started doing it again very quickly. Took it back to the Apple store a few days later and was told the only thing I can do is restore factory settings and lose everything. Okay, it is what it is. So I did that and everything works just perfectly when there's nothing on the phone but what's the point of having 128 gigs if I can't put anything on the phone? Now that I've started trying to put everything back on the phone it's happening again, and I have not used any backed up file; I'm re-downloading directly from the iTunes App store. The phone is now a pain to use and it cost a ridiculous amount of money. Mind you, it doesn't happen all the time... just when I try to DO ANYTHING. This is unacceptable and it's been happening to people since September! Why isn't Apple doing anything about this? There are TENS OF THOUSANDS of hits on this issue, so why isn't it a concern for Apple at all? Reproduce the problem (or just walk out on the street and swing a dead cat and bump into ten people having this problem), find out what's going on, and bloody well have it fixed in the next iOS update! You're over there going "Oh yay, we released a new update and the emoticons are laid out more confusingly now!" Okay, but meanwhile there is a GREAT BIG PROBLEM that is not being addressed at ALL! We cannot just go on with nothing on our phones in order to keep them working; we got large hard drives for a reason!

Phones come and go so quickly that manufacturer's do not face repercussions on their product. Apple does not have to address the problem since they are working on the 7 & 8. Frankly, I did not purchase the latest or greatest andriod and I have a trouble free phone. Loss of customers is understood. Bad reviews on Consumer forums other than Apple may or may not be understood. Hope you can find a way to switch Since you bought a name not a workable phone.

It's likely that lawyers are already planning a class action suit--although it's hard to imagine a remedy equal to not being able to use your phone and your data, or paying for expensive storage you cannot use. The lawyers will be the only real winners.

I hope they remember it's not just the 128: my 64GB 6+ is in the same boat--non-functional due to springboard crashes if too many apps are installed (while my old iPhone 5 handled the same number just fine).

Apple may need to rework springboard behind the scenes, to cache more data and hold less in RAM. I'd say they've had plenty of time to do so, if it was a priority. (And plenty of time to notify Geniuses that it's a known issue planned for attention some day, if not.) I've had half a year with a semi-functional phone, but better late than never if they ever do release a fix.

Questions out of curiosity:

- Has anyone with any iPhone 6+ reported the phone NOT crashing if 750 or more apps are installed? It seems 100% reproducible to me, even though the exact threshold varies (which makes sense, as RAM usage also varies).

- Has anyone tried 750+ apps on a 32GB iPhone 6+? I'm guessing all 6+ sizes are affected (due to the larger screen needing more RAM) but that the bigger your storage, the more likely you're a user with a big library of games or other apps. So 128 owners are the most commonly affected, followed by 64 owners like me, but I bet there a handful of 32GB owners out there with a lot of (very small!) apps. It would be an interesting test case.

Mine is a 64gb, so it's not just happening with 128gb phones. I will wait for an update because I hate it when something suddenly goes wrong, and the tech's always want to make you think it's on YOUR end. I've done nothing to my phone and this started happening since yesterday or today (I cannot be sure). We all need to wait for an update because anything else as the culprit is just a flat out lie - SMH

1 An update is on software. This is a hardware problem.

2 I had all the apps I used on the 5S & iPad.

3 My 64 gb went haywire when I plugged in the "old fashioned" headphones Instead of using bluetooth. No matter what I selected after a reboot, it froze.

4 Apple is replacing phones, but they all have the same hardware problem. They are too busy with newer models to fix the hardware.

5. I traded my 6 Plus back for an andriod (note 4.) The new note 6 comes out in fall. This "older" model does everything the 6 Plus could do. I realized I had been paying for a name. A name that had my money & would keep shipping defective phones if I was willing to play that game just to have an iPhone. I wasn't looking to take my business elsewhere, like all of you--I wanted a product that worked correctly.
