iPhone 6 Plus Keeps Crashing PLEASE HELP!

I am a huge Apple fan, so I ask this question wishing and hoping my iPhone 6 Plus would just perform the way I know it should be.

Since restoring from my old iPhone 5S backup onto my 6 Plus 128GB (AT&T) running iOS 8.0, my 6 Plus is laggy (animations are very slow and stutter), freezy (after hitting "done" it often freezes for a good five seconds before registering the click), buggy (the keyboard sometimes doesn't appear at all, the "halos" around the folders on the home screen sometimes appear and sometimes don't, seems totally arbitrary), and crashy (whenever doing certain tasks like fast app switching, trying to change wallpaper, and others, the phone crashes, turns off the radios, then shows the Apple screen before rebooting). The crashing is happening once every five to ten minutes, making the phone VERY FRUSTRATING TO USE.

I have tried manually restarting the phone, HOME + SLEEP reset to the Apple screen, and restoring again...My next step is a factory reset and manual reinstallation of all my apps again, which is making me sick just thinking about it...

All of these things scream SOFTWARE to me, but what do I know...is anyone else experiencing these issues on the 6 Plus? Should I just be waiting for an OS update, or did I just get a lemon phone? As I said, I love Apple, and this is not a post to flame (so please save your "Go buy an Android" for someone who cares). I just want my shiny new phone to work!!! Any help is appreciated.

Had the same problem.

I bought my iPhone 6 64G ten days ago and yesterday it had a blue screen followed by a reboot. It turns into a red screen of death (at first it's snowflake screen) this morning and keeps reboot. I had only downloaded like 10 apps so far.....

if that's a hardware issue, then it's just a matter of time even if I have my current dead phone changed..... DISAPPOINTED.

I dont think so the problem is because of the backup. I reset my iPhone 6+ and it keeps crashing. Sometimes its works for a few minutes/hours. Then start crashing. Sometime I feel like to throw it down and crush it. But only because of loosing money I am controlling myself. This is because of Steves absence. Stupid Tim cannot manage apple like that. I feel this is not a software issue.

Just to add weight to this problem (not that it needs it) I picked up a new 6 plus 128gb from work last week. im running iOS 8.1.3 and all has been fine until this morning. I was watching a video via the Facebook app when my phone suddenly displayed a blue screen for about 3 seconds and then rebooted. I have restored it from a backup of my 5s but it seems that may be a red herring based on previous posts.

You and me both. My iPhone 6 Plus just starts calling people. Opening multiple pages on Safari, locks up, you name it . I NEVER had these issues with my iPhone 4. I have spent countless hours online with Apple and Verizon, issue still not resolved, I don't know who to turn to. I can't believe some people feel that it's due to the chargers their using, I've used nothing but the charger that came with my phone. I want to say that I started having the issues after the most recent update. The phone is just downright unreliable and I havent found one post that has helped me resolve the issue. Does ANYONE who works for Apple actually read and respond to these posts???

you can thank Apple for not giving you anymore RAM than 1GB after an app crashes go to Privacy>diagnostics and usage guaranteed you will see a Jetsam log (which is basically low memory) I also have lots of these errors along with numerous friends. It is unacceptable! Apple should be offering a trade in program with a huge discount (when the 6s's are released) due to us users being stuck with a shotty OS (on the 6+) every update since 8.0 has never fixed the stability of the 6 plus!

Before i had the 6+ i had the 6 for 2 weeks (before returning and upgrading to the 6+) And never had any issues really. But that's Apple for you!

I, too am having this problem, and am very upset about it. I bought a brand new iPhone 6 in December and soon after the apps kept crashing. It messed up my entire running schedule, as I use RunKeeper religiously for exercise and it stopped working. I spent nearly a week with tech support trying to fix it. We wiped it and restored it and it worked for about a month--and now the apps are crashing again. I have been a loyal Apple customer for a long time, but am starting to think about other phone options. I can't deal with this grief. It's not worth it! My phone was $600 and I can't use most of the apps! I might as well go back to one of those rotary phones. They're much cheaper."Smart" phone?? Ha!

Will try going into the Apple store as a last resort, and if they don't permanently fix it, I'm getting an Android.

This is directed to those on this thread WITH THE ORIGINAL ISSUE - 128GB / LARGE NUMBER OF APPS (700+) AND CONSTANT REBOOTING.

So, we heard the story 2 months ago from the 8.2 Beta Tester that claimed 8.2 fixed the issue of constant reboots with 128GB of Memory and a large number of Apps (700+).

Now that 8.2 has been released for 48 Hours, has anyone with 128GB of Memory and over 700 Apps had this suddenly solve your problem....which was a problem this past weekend prior to updating to 8.2?

Thanks

I have been having the same problem with iPhone 6 plus 128 GB since it was new 5 months ago. I thought I was alone until I discovered that Apple has admitted that they put too little RAM into these phones. This is not just a phone, it has all the capabilities of a tablet and should have had the minimal hardware (RAM) needed to run such a device. I read a week or two ago that when the iPhone 6s is released with 2 GB of RAM, Apple plans to start selling iPhone 8 plus with adequate RAM, namely 2 GB. Now I am not an engineer and I did not design this over priced phone. Therefore I am going to do my very best to get Apple to replace my defective iPhone 6 plus 1 GB RAM with the 2 GB version. I don't know why they are giving people 3 and 4 new iPhones that have the same problem when the increased RAM seems to be the only thing that will solve the problem. I suppose it doesn't matter how many 1 GB phones they give to those with problem phones as the entire inventory is not somethng they should be selling so they will need to dispose of them somehow anyway Obviously Apple realizes that 1 GB is not enough or they wouldn't be suddenly using 2 GB in the 6s and now the 6 plus if what I read is accurate. I don't know what else to do other than wait and try to get Apple to do the right thing and replace my phone with a working model. It doesn't seem that would be a problem as Apple is flush with more cash than they know what to do with by selling these phones they did not spend enough on proper hardware for. If anyone has any other information than the absurdly complicated software backup excuses, please comment or give me some suggestions. I would be ver happy to learn I am wrong and that there is a simple fix. In truth, I really like my iPhone 6 plus and just want it to work. But when I cannot type a complete sentence without it locking up for minutes at a time, the phone becomes a bit of a problem.

Nearly 5 months after purchasing my iPhone 6 Plus 128G, I am still having the same problem(after restoring from my 5s backup with more than 1400 apps, the 6plus kept rebooting itself non-stop) and cannot use it.

To be fair, I have not spent any more time with it after the initial few weeks of repeatedly trying to restore it and doing all sort of diagnostic tests like installing the apps manually in batches...etc. A lot had been happening in my own personal life including a death in the family and adding to the fact that I live more than 1000km away from the closest Apple Store, I had not had a chance to bring the unit to Apple.

A few days ago, I thought I would give it a go again, hoping that the new iOS update might have fixed it. I tried resetting the phone completely and re-installing the apps in batches again from the App Store. All seemed to be working well until tonight and after installing another batch of apps, it started rebooting endlessly again. I connected the phone to iTune and found that it now has about 900 apps installed. So it does look like that problem resurfaced once the total number of apps has gotten over the cursed 700 app number. Apparently the iOS update did nothing.

This thread has gotten somewhat quiet recently yet no apparent fix have been mentioned. I am just wondering what has happened to all the owners of the iPhone 6 plus with similar problem?

Hi, Puresoyauce,

Do you think you can maybe delete some apps to get it down to around 600 or so to see if it does get better? 7-800 apps seem to be where it starts to crash a lot. It would be good to get another confirmation of this. I just installed about 900 apps last week and it reboots non-stop.

I am going to get my hands on an iPhone 6(non-plus) 128GB and install the same 1400 apps that I have got and see if it can install and run okay.

To be honest, If I have not already invested so much into all my thousands of apps and that quality music apps are more or less exclusive to the iOS, I would have switched already to Samsung already.

This did nothing for my phone. It freezes and I cannot even use the touch screen. The first buggy app I noticed was Mercury. Now it is just using the phone period. I can receive text. Have to turn on and off to respond. Then it no longer recognizes it is being touched. Sometimes, it starts flashing and has to be turned off--but usually the slide will not work. This is nuts.
