iPhone 6 Plus Keeps Crashing PLEASE HELP!

I am a huge Apple fan, so I ask this question wishing and hoping my iPhone 6 Plus would just perform the way I know it should be.

Since restoring from my old iPhone 5S backup onto my 6 Plus 128GB (AT&T) running iOS 8.0, my 6 Plus is laggy (animations are very slow and stutter), freezy (after hitting "done" it often freezes for a good five seconds before registering the click), buggy (the keyboard sometimes doesn't appear at all, the "halos" around the folders on the home screen sometimes appear and sometimes don't, seems totally arbitrary), and crashy (whenever doing certain tasks like fast app switching, trying to change wallpaper, and others, the phone crashes, turns off the radios, then shows the Apple screen before rebooting). The crashing is happening once every five to ten minutes, making the phone VERY FRUSTRATING TO USE.

I have tried manually restarting the phone, HOME + SLEEP reset to the Apple screen, and restoring again...My next step is a factory reset and manual reinstallation of all my apps again, which is making me sick just thinking about it...

All of these things scream SOFTWARE to me, but what do I know...is anyone else experiencing these issues on the 6 Plus? Should I just be waiting for an OS update, or did I just get a lemon phone? As I said, I love Apple, and this is not a post to flame (so please save your "Go buy an Android" for someone who cares). I just want my shiny new phone to work!!! Any help is appreciated.

It does sound like something in your iPhone 5s backup isn't playing well with your new Plus. As awful as it sounds, I would recommend setting up your new fabulous phone like a new phone and manually adding your apps back.

I have the same issues that are being discussed in this thread on all 5 of my iOS devices. I've even created AppleCare+ tickets for the issue. I eventually gave up. The bottom line is the issue exists, it eventually makes every one of my iOS devices so unstable that I just perform a clean install. I've become surprisingly good and configuring iOS, installing hundreds of apps and configuring them.

I believe the iOS directory structure becomes corrupted due to any of a number of possible events. Once this happens you the device will ultimately have to be wiped and all apps re-installed and reconfigured.

I've done this at least 50 times on my iPad 3 (retina), iPad Air 2, iPhone 5, and iPhone 6 Plus and I have collected a lot of details regarding the issue but unfortunately no solution that will "fix" a device once the root cause issue has occurred,

It seems clear to me that Apple has no interest in helping the group of us that want to own large capacity versions of their product(s) and use a lot of that storage for installing and configuring a relatively large number of apps which we have also purchased from them.

Might as well join the Q. 6plus 6months old. Black screen after restart requiring hard reboot and the random faded unresponsive home screen which clears now by hitting lock button once. Personally I think it's software. I only have like 30 apps. I keep looking for an official comment from APPLE on the problem, guess there ain't one. Big 😟!!!!!!!!

I spoke to an Apple specialist and basically he had me reproduce the crashes and I was able to reproduce them about five times in 10 minutes and then he wanted me to back up my phone to iTunes and then they got me to send Files from my computer to their server. So now they basically got all the logs and the exact times that I experienced crash. So the specialist said that they would be able to get back to me within 3 to 4 dayssoon rep said that they will get back Saturday. So I am going to guess w so Rob said that they will get back Saturday. So I am going they will fix the issue. My opinion it might even make 8.4

I'm on my 4 ephor 6 plus 128gb. I have had this phone since 5/6 and it has experienced the same repeated crashing/rebooting issues that has been discussed throughout this thread. I have had multiple "Sr Advisors" and other technical support people involved and they refuse to give me a new phone. At this point it's evident that Apple just doest want to stand behind their faulty TLC based 128gb phones.

On 5/7 the phone experienced a "panic" crash and I was told once engineering see's "panic" they will replace it automatically. Boy was that a blatant lie!

since the I have been jumping through hoops trying to get them all the data that they need.

*** FYI I have 6 other people on my team that have 6+ but 16gb versions loaded with the same profile and no issues...***

On 5/22 after sending in multiple logs (which I never felt comfortable sending) I was asked to remove my work email (profile based settings) and try the phone out. I had it removed for 2 days and the phone kept rebooting/crashing. Send crash logs again. Come to find out on 6/3 that they haven't even looked at the data from 5/22. ***????

On 6/10 they are yet again asking me to remove the profile and resend data logs. I refuse as this my work phone refunded by work and I cannot justify yet again being offline. They are now working to see what other options are available.

I am so fed up I can not even begin to type it out ... FML!!!!! Apple really let me down!

I also have an iPhone 6 Plus 128 gb that keeps crashing. Apple support was NO HELP! I'm sick of Apple ignoring the problem and refusing to fix it. They're afraid they might have to acknowledge that there is no fix. They're trying to avoid a recall. I'm going to bury my beloved iPhone in the backyard and get an Android. Bye bye Apple!

I had been testing 8.4 for 5 days before posting........you beat me to it.

After 22 months, I finally have a 128GB iPad with 1500+ apps that is not constantly crashing.

Had nothing to do with 1 or more apps causing it to crash as was constantly told. Rebuilding from scratch 1 or 2 apps at a time for 2 years would not have fixed the issue.

The iOS was the issue.

Of course, I only swapped out the iPad 11 times, so not sure how much Apple saved in the process.

I finally tried again to install my old 960-app iPhone 5 backup onto my 6 Plus 64GB—the 960 apps that would crash the 6 Plus springboard in a continuous loop.

As of 8.4.1, I have had no crashes, freeezes, resprings, or visual glitches of the home screen. The problem does seem to be fixed!

It's only been a few hours.., knock on wood... but when the 6 Plus was new it couldn't go 20 seconds without crashing, and it couldn't swipe past the first 4 home screens, and it couldn't change wallpapers. None of those problems are happening now.

I can tell memory is still an issue: when you use Spotlight, the app icons take a moment to populate. But that's pretty trivial. It seems to be cacheing intelligently now, rather than going belly up. At last.

(I do still see one glitch: home screen Web Bookmark icons are blank. But when you launch each one, it fixes itself and seems to stay fixed. This is probably an unrelated iOS 8 issue even though blank icons were also a symptom of the original problem with too many apps.)
