Apple pay can only be used with the iPhone 6 or 6plus, or with the Apple watch in combination with an iPhone 6, 6plus, 5s, 5c, and iPhone 5:

So, no iPhone 4s or 4, and an iPhone 5, 5c, 5s only if you have the Apple Watch paired.

I highly discard what Apple has done.

Not all people will be able to afford IPhone 6 and watches and this is were businesses need to look at the bigger picture in life and not make this unfair for the disadvantage people around the world to.

I want to use apple pay for older devices, someone please help me????

I guess you could make payments the old fashioned way, you know, with actual money.

stedman1 I guess you should chose your words more carefully!

I know the facts of life, i was trying to see if there was an alternative and maybe a way for older IPhones to use Apple pay.

Keep your smartarse comments to yourself.

Why would you write on this thread? What just to be a amusing to others?

If i do write my feelings and detail description on what needs to be change, do you think they will change their policies and system requirements?

I do not believe writing on these forums would make a impact to how apple is structured!

I never knew emotions could change a Apple's perspective?

Unfair? How would you expect your phone, which doesn't have an NFC chip to be able to handle Apple Pay? It's not possible. It has nothing to do with fairness.

But I WANT it! And it's unfair if I can't get everything I want! It doesn't matter whether or not it's actually possible! 😉

Apples has only just introduced easy payments and therefore they should of work out a way where all apple users can take advantage of this. This is what i meant by unfairness.

Did i know that you needed NFC chip? NO I DIDN'T! Regardless of NFC chip, it should be not be necessity to use Apple pay.

Level 8 you are there on the forums, you should be setting a example on here.

This shows what type of person you are

So you are trying to mock me, make fun on a question i posted on? Is that correct?

Seems to mean everywhere you go, whomever you speak with their is always be a majority of smartarse.

Like with any other electronic home device, if the technology is outdated, you can't have all the features that the new devices have, because the hardware is missing inside. So, if the requirement for making an payment with your phone is the NFC chip inside the phone, your phone has to have one built in.

Apple listens to the needs of the customers, if possible. For example, they brought back the contact syncing option in iTunes, to enable users to use their computer again to store the contact info instead of iCloud, because many users complained about being forced to use iCloud in the new OSX at that time.

Apple Pay is Apple's name for their NFC payment service. There is no way to use an NFC payment service without an NFC chip. If you so desperately need to use it (it will probably be a couple of years before it's in common use, anyway), you will need to buy a new phone. This is not unfair. It's technology. Get over it. I have no patience with people who feel they are entitled to everything new without buying the new technology required. And, no, I'm not required to set an example to you or anyone.

Nice little write up here.

For those thinking Apple needs to use a different method for the payments, blame the banking machines and other devices already out that that Apple is going to be communicating with for Apple Pay. Maybe everyone should change everything so it works with your 4 year old phone.
