Apple pay can only be used with the iPhone 6 or 6plus, or with the Apple watch in combination with an iPhone 6, 6plus, 5s, 5c, and iPhone 5:

So, no iPhone 4s or 4, and an iPhone 5, 5c, 5s only if you have the Apple Watch paired.

For those thinking Apple needs to use a different method for the payments, blame the banking machines and other devices already out that that Apple is going to be communicating with for Apple Pay. Maybe everyone should change everything so it works with your 4 year old phone.

The article states "One day, we'll all be paying for things with our phones, and NFC is the ticket to that future."

I think apple have just caught on to what is really going on. Apple is lagging and not advance in how it should be. Not helping all of users worldwide that are.

Prices are for the middle to high class society of people. (FACT)

Updates chip NFC or no NFC chip should NOT DETERMINE WHO CAN USE APPLE PAY.

What you need a IPhone 6 because it has a NFC chip, to use the feature Apple pay. I would not recommend people due the disadvantages that apples seems to be doing time and time again and just can not seem to get it right.

Please Apple get your act together. Technology is advancing and seem like Apple is taking it's sweet time to get things going.

Put me on the board and i will pick up where Steve Jobs left off and where Apple has failed countless time again after time again to meet the customer need's worldwide. They say money changes people and seems that Apple is about the money not the customer's all of levels.

The bank system is the most outdate and insecure organisation out there along with the government's with their outdated policies, run by greed. (FACT)

Well as long the bank elites, government elites are in the million dollar mark salary, car's & houses all payed for, 5 star treatment, with meals cooked. Why would they want to help the people? Destruct the policies even more so their salary and bonuses are well advanced and bigger than last year's so why worry what people need.

Do you think people just like me and millions out there writing our emotions and expression's on forums and threads of our

frustration in every department / section from health, education, businesses, technology and to basic need's where resources are so desperately needed would change anything? Really?

This is SO ill-informed, it's laughable. What part of you MUST have an NFC chip to make a transaction 100% secure do you not understand? Apple got their act together by waiting until the banks and retailers determined what kind of system would work with NFC. Then and only then, did Apple incorporate the Chip in their latest phone.

I'm sorry that you are disappointed, but you are simply demonstrating you are clueless about technology, or what is required to work with any near field communication system.

No i stand my ground , apple and you people are simply demonstrating clueless ideologies on how you think technology is structured. Requirements with near field communication is a easy fixed problem. You people really do not have much of idea. This is clearly shown.

Let me jump in here for a sec...

What I see is a person that is being stubborn simply for the point of being stubborn. If, as you say, NFC could easily be remedied, why aren't you the one with the patent for the "better" technology that way Apple can buy your innovation? The reason is that it just isn't that simple. Sometimes the idea is a genius one but the infrastructure and actual business plan to make the idea come about and be a fruitful one just isn't in place yet. This is exactly what Apple isn't the one making decisions about who can and can't use the NFC technology. The simple fact is that if you simply want to complain about what you don't have and then whine because someone else has it and you don't then you are part of the problem and not the solution. The reason you're not on the board is because you bring problems to the table and not solutions.

That does not mean anything to me, i am glad this quote means something to do but it does not mean nothing to me. Understand?

I am talking about a way for every user with Apple to use the new features the new updates. NFC chip or no NFC chip.

You're a very amusing odd person. You simply don't get it. But you fight your fight. Even though there's ZERO chance you'll get what you want.

The feature REQUIRES an NFC chip. Ergo, it cannot be used without an NFC chip. Demanding it, stamping your feet like a toddler who dropped his lolly in the dust will get you nothing. Ranting here will get you nothing. Take it up with Apple.

Sep 24, 2014 5:42 PM in response to IdrisSeabright

He simply doesn't get it. He's clearly done ZERO research on NFC. He hasn't read how NFC works. He doesn't get that without the NFC chip, his phone will never be able to communicate with merchant terminals which will only work with an NFC Chip. He's sadly delusional. But got to give it to him. He's going to fight his fight. Even though he's already lost.

I will fight even with there is 0.0000001 chance. I will fight my way to the top.

Zero chance? Wow really. Each to their own. That is the beauty of life we all run off different ideas, opinions and facts in life.

Let me tell there are ways around this and for the best but it seems like i am talking to deaf ears.

So listen up, you don't know me and i don't know you. Respect my views and ideas.

So off you guys go, report to Apple and complain about irrelevance that you think is not contributing to the forums. WEAK.
