iPhone 6 Plus, LTE reception issues?

Has anyone else been having issues with mobile reception on the iPhone 6 plus?

I work on a 9th floor surrounded by windows, where I used to get full LTE reception on my iPhone 5S, I now only get 2 bars (dots, whatever) on the iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8. I have restarted, and reset network settings with no improvement.

I'm hoping an iOS 8 update will address this, but I'm not sure I can wait that long, as less ideal reception areas may drop signal and make the phone unusable. I'll wait a week or so and see about a replacement if it's a problem.

UPDATE: a subsequent reset & restart caused the signal to go up to 4 bars for a couple of minutes, but it is now back down to two again. This is very odd.

I am too having this same problem. LTE is dropping and it shows 3G and sometimes 1x. This issue occurs even when I am at work where reception used to be pretty much consistent (LTE 5 bars) however it's now all over the place. I had 5 bars before, now I have anywhere between 1 and 3 switching between LTE, 3G, and 1x. If i turn off LTE I am able to make calls but if LTE is on even for Voice & Data or Data only, I can't make calls or accept any because I'm considered out of reception. I've had this problem actually for 2 weeks. This occurred after the most recent update with is the 8.3 and now I'm so frustrated. I have an appointment with Apple for support on Tuesday, May 5th.

I finally made the switch to iPhone 6 Plus and the phone is starting to
really frustrate me in the realm of LTE reception.

Verizon has updated my SIM card, changed the data to LTE Data only, Vs.
Voice and LTE, and still nothing. I rarely have 3 bars and sometimes when I am
lucky I get 4 and do somersaults. The only time I don't have an issue is
when I am on my home Wifi or Wifi from somewhere else.

I have read all of the comments, and have been to the Verizon store with the
issues, and it seems funny to me after all of these comments reiterating the
same issue, apple still has yet to fix or make a statement on what they plan to
do to make their customers happy or show they have an action plan. I hope
they realize the amount they charge people to purchase their equipment; only
gives them a negative review to upcoming customers hoping or inquiring to
purchase from apple.

To be honest, I may even take it back to the store and go with a different
phone if the problem persists. I hope when they do the WWDC on the 6th they
make changes that happen BEFORE September 15 on the next release of products.

Get it together apple....this is way too
many people effected to not handle the issue now.

I have gotten an iPhone 6 Plus a month ago. Currently running iOS 8.4 on Rogers' network in Canada. I am having similar issues to other people on this thread:

  • 3G only connectivity in areas where my previous phone (HTC One) would consistently show at least 2 bars of LTE
  • Connectivity often falls down to E (Edge!) in the middle of the city when driving causing Siri to fail (normally Siri does not work reliably on my route to work because of this)
  • Often when on a call the phone does not receive data - probably indicating that it is on E (Edge) again - this means that while on a cellular conference call I don't get emails and cannot use presentation sharing / meeting apps

Is Apple loosing their golden touch and the subsequent releases are getting increasingly buggy? I have traded Galaxy S6 Edge for the iPhone because of the battery issues with the former; however, the connectivity was top notch on the Sammy. The iPhone also suffers from very slow WiFi speeds on my home network (using UniFi AC solution - very reliable for my all other Apple and other devices).

APPLE: Please help - it really looks like the ball is in your court, and as much as I appreciate Apple Music launch in 8.4, it sounds terrible on E connection or even on WiFi when the highest supported speed from the phone is 1MB.
