IPAD2 very slow after IOS 8 upgrade

After IOS 8 upgrade many aplications ( Safari, Facebook, etc) load very, very slow (comparing with 7 version) , with a significant delay of more than 10 seconds...

Who can I solve this problem? Any workaround?

PD

Apple should better test the software before delivering.

Thanks.

Perhaps what we should recommend/request Apple do in the future is to not break it down into "upgrade or not," but into "upgrade," "can't upgrade," and "can upgrade but not recommended." The latter category would be appropriate if the resulting performance is likely to be low, and/or if the primary benefit of upgrading is ... dubious. As an example of the latter, the health-related features of iOS 8 are of so-so value for a tablet, since, unlike a smartphone or smartwatch, you're probably not going to haul a tablet around on your workouts. So, that consideration might increase the chances they'd give it a "not recommended" rating for iPad2.

I don't know ... as that's adding another layer of complexity for Apple to this whold upgrade process. I think Apple should keep it to simply "it can be done technically and hardware-wise" or it can't. And just leave it at that.

As for the users figuring out whether they want to do it for their machine (especially if their iOS device is nearing "end of life") ... I think just waiting and then reading up on articles addressing the subject will be good enough for them to make the decision. I just don't think Apple needs to be involved any more than it's technically workable or it's not.

The good part of what you're suggesting is that, again, Apple wants to make these products simple, and a binary "go/no-go" is simple. The downside though is that it's often not a pure binary decision. I forget who it was in this conversation, but s/he said that a certain iOS 8 feature was important enough to tolerate some slow-down. Also, what is technically "feasible" can be a matter of degree - how much slow-down is acceptable?

Also, the hard part about looking up problems people have with a new iOS version is that it's very hard to tell whether what they're seeing is typical or not.

I do not consider legitimate complaints to be a gripefest. I have an ipad2 which operated perfectly well before upgrading to ios8 and ios8.0.2. My device is slow. Lost the ability to use GSM service with AT&T since upgrading. The copy and paste can only be used by rebooting after each use. Apparently the clip board only clears after powering off and rebooting. I get an occasional error within safari also. It is standard practice in software upgrades to be able to go back to a previous version of software if something doesn't go right after installing a new version. I bought this Apple product because I believed their claims of being a superior company and product. Hardware is no better than the software it runs.

To all whiners, complainers, gripers: You have succeeded in polluting this technical forum with the sheer volume of your unhelpful and inappropriate posts, making this area unusable for those looking for solutions, and there have been very effective solutions. It has been explained to you where they might do some good and why they don't belong here. Please accept these facts and reconsider what you are doing.

Yes, the 3G dropping must be fixed by Apple and I'm confident it will. Btw, I do not work for Apple.

What have you done to resolve the issues?

Considering the damage this upgrade did to folks across a wide spectrum of otherwise content users, the concerns and complaints posted here are a completely natural and understandable consequence. This forum offers many upset users an opportunity to lay this 'upgrade' fiasco as near the company's doorstep as possible.

Your upset at having your pristine forum set upon by whiners & complainers is a rare event. It will go away and you'll eventually be here alone...contented to restructure your domain inviolate.

Actually, that one is true, apple released iOS 8.0.1 and almost right away pulled it off cause it was screwing with data usage, they fixed all that in 8.0.2 and pulled it almost soon as it was released, but still, they fixed it, so what makes them think apple won't fix this? It just may be more complicated then we realize. I'd like to see any of you people complaining try to code software to work with 12 different device and not make any mistakes.

People are reporting the same issues with IOS 8 on their brand new devices. This is why the update was pulled. Brand new iPhone 6s with similar issues, right out of the box.

Let me guess. You saw that on the Internet so it must be true, right?

No, this is first hand experience. My company supports dozens of businesses with dozens of iThings. My techs are responsible for responding quickly to these clients. We had clients with brand new iPhone 6 and 6+ experiencing issues. In some cases a phone call helped, in others they had to be taken to the Apple Store or verizon to get them working. The issues ranged from no cell service, to no internet, to slow, to spontaneous reboots.

i Believe we have fixed most of these, though not without reports of continued crashes of safari, etc.
