IPAD2 very slow after IOS 8 upgrade

After IOS 8 upgrade many aplications ( Safari, Facebook, etc) load very, very slow (comparing with 7 version) , with a significant delay of more than 10 seconds...

Who can I solve this problem? Any workaround?

PD

Apple should better test the software before delivering.

Thanks.

I really feel screwed by apple right now by not allowing people the downgrade to ios 7.1 or correcting their ios

I was afraid to update my iPad after hearing all the nightmare stories on the net. Last night, My 64GB iPad 2 decided to stop working, so I had no choice but to restore it. I knew for sure that after restoring and updating my iPad, I'll no longer have a working machine. After restoring by connecting the iPad to my MacBook Pro, I was able to restore and recover everything back to the way I had it setup before it crashed. The best part is, The latest version IOS 8.1.3 is installed and working without a glitch. Since I have many apps on the iPad, it's taking awhile to download all the apps and data from my iCloud account.

To download and update successfully to the latest IOS, you have to perform the update using your computer via iTunes.

Also, having enough storage space on the iPad doesn't hurt; I had about 10GB of available space on my iPad.

I didn't revert to iOS7. After reading my post, It does sound as though I reverted to iOS7😊. Once my iPad was connected to iTunes, I was forced to upgrade to the latest iOS version which is 8.1.3. As I've said, I'm not having any lag / crash issues many posters are experiencing. I know how frustrating it can be when things don't workout, but I think we all need to step back, take a deep breath and try restoring the iPad again. Try restoring your ipad using the iTunes App on your computer.

Yes I am experiencing the same issues, fortunately it seems to be worse after the ipad has bee asleep for a period of time, once you start using it it seems to respond almost normal. I almost swapped out the home button, thinking it was faulty, good thing I read the issue here is normal for a ipad 2, hope they have a software fix soon. I have no plans on upgrading to a new ipad anytime soon, this model does everything I need and have all the accessories, stands for it. Clear this up apple ASAP. THANKS

I think what Apple has to do is be honest with its customers. EVEN Microsoft lets you know when an OS is no longer able to be installed on a users config because of chip speed etc. If MS can be "honest, can't Apple just say "this iOS update should only be installed for iPad 3+??

And if this is the case how about making some happy users and lettings us downgrade back to iOS 7.x rather than having genius bar staff tell us that we have to buy new iPads

Tell Apple. Not us.

I read the long post and I've not yet tried restoring my iPad2, however I noticed an improvement ONLY by changing the image of the dektop ...

Yeah!!

I used a photo (taken from the library) that for its size (about 8Mb) probably took up too much memory.

Replaced with a default desk image, the most annoying lag (jerky transition from one app to another in the task) are greatly improved.

it is clear, at this point, that each device has its own history that iOs 8 has contributed to exasperate.

I'm not sure that a full reset will contribute better because my old iPhone 4s whose default reseated without backup restore, but it has same lags and jerky as before.

Hello, my Mac Book Pro - late 2011, became progressively slower with 2 os upgrades.. I was advised to add more ram. I did so and additionally added a new solid state drive. Now it works faster than ever. To save money you may add just the additional ram (memory). This may be sufficient to get up to a good speed.

i Believe this or these hardware upgrades will solve the speed problem.
