2014 Subaru Outback Pairing Bluetooth IOS 8, iPhone 6

I cannot get my iPhone 6 with IOS 8 to work properly with my cars Bluetooth option. The phone pairs correctly but will not dial out over the car speakers and I'm unable to answer incoming calls.

Anyone else having this problem?

I am having the same problem too, and mine is on the 2015 Outback. It says the text reply "feature" is not available. My phone is Verizon, so it's obviously not specific to the carry but either the car or the phone.

Additionally, has anyone been able to get their voice commands to browse music? When I plug my iPhone 6 in to the provided USB port, it says "the music catalogue has not finished loading. Please try again later."

Only, it never finishes loading.

Thus, I am left browsing thousands of songs manually, which is one of the issues I wanted to get away from with the new purchase.

Anyone have this problem or found a fix? It is an Apple or a Subaru issues?

I don't know if I'm having the same issue as everyone else here, but I was having connectivity issues with my 2012 Impreza (without nav). After getting the iPhone6 (iOS 8), I could get the phone to pair, but it would not pair automatically when I turned on the car.

My solution was to delete all the phones in the system using the voice-activated settings, instead of the settings you can get to via the Menu button. Then, still using the voice settings, pair a new phone (and give it a name, etc.). Then things were back to normal. For some reason, deleting phones via the radio buttons was not sufficient.

Yes! Thank you, I've spent a day trying to figure out how to deal with that with no luck.

After applying the voice commands I've found the old phone wasn't deleted, even I've deleted it

by buttons on the radio unit. As soon as I've deleted it by voice I haven't had any problem to pair

the new iPhone 6 and connection became stable, reconnected every time car started!

I MAY HAVE SOLVED THIS PROBLEM!!!

My Problem:

I was having trouble keeping my iphone 6 paired with my 2014 Subaru Impreza via the Bluetooth connection.

I would have to manually re connect it after I shut my car off.

Note; I have the ios update 8.1.2

My Solution:

DO NOT use the buttons on the radio to pair with the phone. You MUST verbally use the audio button on the steering wheel and say "SET UP"... Follow its directions and say "PAIR AUDIO" the rest should be self explanatory.

Side note; make sure you delete the existing audio name through the verbal set up as well.

GOOD LUCK ALL Hope this Helps!

I had success with this with a 2011 Subaru Impreza. Bluetooth on iPhone 6 with iOS 8 would connect but not reconnect getting back into the car.

Deleted by holding down the speak button on the steering wheel and then deleting via the head unit menus (I don't think mine does voice command settings?). Reconnected and so far it is back to how it used to be (connection drops out while driving sometimes but it automatically reconnects and keeps playing, reconnects when you get in the car).

I had also just upgraded to iOS 8.1.3 which may have helped though it sounds like others are having success without that.

I just found how to resolve this issue in my 2012 WRX. Delete the phone from the car and the car from the phone. So there should be no relationship between the two in either device at this point. Make sure there are not any other devices paired with the stereo. Now, set up the relationship using the steering wheel not the radio itself. I don't know why it makes a difference but if def does. Mine will now connect on its own every single time without issues. Good luck!

Many thanks! Deleting my old phone in two places (stereo and steering wheel) did the trick. Woo-hoo! (actually I didn't have to delete it using the steering wheel controls, but had to pair it a second time from there. I forget the exact sequence, but it started with pressing the off-hook button, then navigating via the stereo buttons to pair the phone from the steering wheel, after already pairing it using the stereo controls)
I have a 2013 Outback with the stock sound system (not the higher end nav version) and a new iPhone 6. It would pair OK and play music during that session, but once I turned the car off it would not automatically re-connect. My prior iPhone 4S would automatically connect and start playing if I simply got in the car and turned on the stereo in BT-A mode. With the newly paired phone, I could select it from the car stereo menu manually and it would play, but it would not connect automatically, and the car screen would say that no device was found.

Now I simply get in the car and turn on the stereo, and music plays off the phone.
