iPhone 6 Bluetooth issue

I can't pair my iPhone 6 with the audio unit of my 2009 Acura. The unit does not even show up under pairable devices. Called the dealer and was told those head units are not updatable, I.e, the firmwear is fixed. WTH! Does Apple expect me to buy a new car every time I get a new iPhone?

try this it worked for my 2012 toyota camry. settings- general- reset- reset all settings also remove all pairings from your car and your phone and see if it makes any difference to your ability to pair your new device.

I did what ever everyone suggested, reset all setting, reset network setting, deleting from car memory. It's works fine after you reset it and reconnect to the car with fresh new connection at first, but after I power the phone off and turn it back on, boom the problem comes back. It's got to be a IOS 8 issue. I did this 3 times and I am getting sick and tired of it so I am going to restore and set up as a new iPhone from Itune and wait and see how Apple is going to fix this issue.

I have 3 cars and the Bluetooth is having the same issue on all of them, work first then no more even with the suggest tricks. I hate my iPhone 6 now. 😠

Oh I forget to mention, My wife's iPhone 5 with IOS 8 have no issue at all with all 3 of the car. Only my iPhone 6.

Again I've done the same as everyone's stated, to no avail... I raised a case with apple and went through all the issues along with full reset and running as a clean phone with no joy. Only to be told that I would need to get in contact with my car manufacturer for a software update to my car!

Seriously not happy with that response, as I told then my iphone 5 on ios 8 works perfectly...

Car issues is with: Jaguar XF 2010

I'll try logging out of iCloud and see what I get with that...

I figured out a workaround. The problem lies in the "old profile" that people are using to setup their new iPhone 6. When you first set it up it asks if you want to set it up from an iCloud, iTunes backup or "set up as a new phone." I restored my new iPhone 6 numerous times as well as my wife's because we kept having the same problem in our Infiniti's that we drive. Each time we would get no audio on phone calls. I remembered though that when I first got my iPhone 6 that it was working via Bluetooth but that was because the AT&T rep that activated my phone skipped all the setup stuff & stared my phone as "new" and told me I could restore it from my backup later. Once I restored it from an old backup that is when the problems started. This morning I reset my phone & erased everything, restarted it & "setup as a new phone" and BAM!!!! my bluetooth is working again. The only problem now is that I have to redownload all my apps one by one but at least my bluetooth is working now. Hope this helps.

i asked this same question in another thread but no one replied, so thank you for reporting this good news.

it is just sad that restore from back up worked through all different iphone versions until 6. i'm pretty sure apple can fix this problem, but don't know how long it will take.

install from fresh is always the best way to go, but we long time iphone users have accumulated many apps that has data (sometimes not backup-able). fresh install means you will either loose everything, or hand copy them out then re-input after fresh install. that is a time consuming process.

i dug out my old bt headset for the time being. hopefully apple can come up with a fix quickly so we can move on.

All of these are short term fixes. Sorry. I have been struggling with this on 3 phones now.

NO amount of resetting networks settings or iCloud or restoring backups or setting up as a new iPhone.

I have tried all this. Nothing is working long term.

Apple needs to step up and ad it they have an issue and get it fixed.

Nothing has worked.

For everyone having Blue tooth issues. Below is the fix. Please follow this step by step and it will be solved. I have already taken my mercedes Benz to the dealer and done the software update but that was not the issue. The real issue is with the new phone (Not Ios 8) hardware and how it is working with icloud. The klutz at apple have no idea what they have created and the problems it is causing users. They dont care and the apple tech support is equally clueless. They are happy to sell you a phone and then it is your problem to deal with and they blamed the car manufacturer!! They are not even owning up to this issue and releasing a fix.

BELOW will work ....dont waste time doing anything else

1) Log out of icloud on the iphone – SETTINGS, ICLOUD, SIGN OUT (AT BOTTOM)

2) Delete car/headset from iphone – SETTINGS, BLUETOOTH, SELECT DEVICE, FORGET THIS DEVICE

3) Reset network connections – SETTINGS, GENERAL, RESET, RESET NETWORK SETTINGS

4) Delete iphone from car memory

5) Restart phone

6) Pair to car/headset as normal

7) Log back into icloud to use icloud features
