iPhone 6 Plus Volume

I recently purchased an iPhone 6 Plus and I noticed that the volume when on a call is very, very low. I turned the volume all the way up and there is still no improvement. When I had my iPhone 5S, I was able to actually turn down the volume because it was loud. Is anyone else having this problem?

Device: iPhone 6 Plus

Capacity: 128GB

Color: Black/Space Grey

*Phone volume is normal when on a call through Speakerphone or BT connection. Volume level problem is only experienced when using the ear piece.

Easy Fix! If your phone is a few months old and this just started happening, your earpiece is likely dirty. Take a cardboard business card and use the corner to scrape side to side over the earpiece hole and wear down the corner of the card just a bit. Wipe out all the loose dirt that comes free and make a phone call. You will notice the difference immediately. If your phone is new make sure you remove the plastic screen cover.

This is 2016 and I'm having the same problem with the iPhone 7 Plus. The Apple's phone performance has been an issue for years, so I got the phone eyes open and I'm not surprised at it's not being as good a phone (as a phone) as others such as Samsung. I got it because I wanted a phone to fit my Apple ecosystem and in that I have not been disappointed. I also couldn't stand Android with all the extra apps Google throws in and that can't be removed. Also I was having heating issues even with my old Galaxy S4. Android did have an app that would increase phone volume - I was hoping there'd be one for iOS also, but the only ones I could find affect only the speakers, which are already loud enough.

I don't think replacing the phone will help. It's just an Apple idiosyncrasy for reasons only they know.

I tried all these solutions, and none worked. Then finally I read somewhere that a q tip in methylated spirit carefully cleaning the earpiece worked perfectly. I can't beleive how many different things I adjusted to try to get the volume up, when all it turned out to be just dirt in the microphone. A simple wipe with the q tip with a bit of solvent and then dry with the other end and it now works perfectly. I only need the phone to be at quarter volume now to hear calls.

Fantastic!

I had the same issue on my 6s plus, receiver volume on maximum was like it's on minimum.

I took my iPhone to an Apple Store as its still under warreny and they replaced the screenas its all connected, and wow what a difference, even minimum volume setting is fine for me now. very loud. I guess it's a fault with some models.

If still under warranty take it to an Apple Store as it may be faulty.

So many people have EXACTLY the same problem--- I do as well...😟.

You would think that when in the 21st Century, where Apple Inc. can pack a warehouse of technology into this device, and with ALLLLLLLL the complaints about VOLUME --- Not about size, operating speed, or connectivity,,,, but

(VOLUME!!!!!!!!)

-------------And I am certain they [Apple], are Well-Aware of the issue!--------------

It's probably as easy as tweaking the Firmware a tad to please Everyone!

So you would think that the Tech Dept. could easily increase the Decibel Level by a few Dbs - Right?!---> "NOT"

It would require someone actually giving a cxxp on behalf of the Simple Consumer for them to spend minimal dinero upping the Dbs....

Oh Well---😠

I understand it's an hardware issue not software. I took my iPhone 6s Plus to an Apple Store and they confirmed the volume way too low on max volume, and they replaced the screen( it includes the connected receiver speaker, etc) while I waited, and the volume is now very loud.

I would recommend taking to an Apple Store as the issue appears to be a hardware fault.
