Is there an issue with IOS8 and bluetooth connectivity?
I have downloaded IOS8 on my iPhone 5S & 4S, and now am not able to use the bluetooth phone connection in my auto.
Anyone experiencing this same situation?

Really?
Steve hired John Scully (which almost forced Apple into bankruptcy and got Steve fired/quit/whatever).
Steve did the Lisa. (and they got buried them in a guarded landfill).
Steve did the Apple III.
I Believe so. When people around the world report problem in by connectivity to their car systems ( different makers, different years, models but same problem, I.e. Bluetooth) this means road safety issues due to sloppy work of developers. I do not think that quality is anymore the level it used to be with SJ alive, obsessed as he was with superior quality of Apple products. At least this is my impression
New Iphone 5s here with ios 8.0 and then upgraded to 8.0.2. Phone will pair up fine to my 2012 Ram with Uconnect and stream music, however when making or receiving a call the uconnect screen shows the call going through but there is no sound and I must transfer the call back to my handset. I've tried almost all of the remedies listed on various forums but have had no success in solving the issue. I'm not expecting anyone to reply with a solution as I have pretty much tried it all after two days of intense research. I am just posting here in the hope that the more people who state the problem, then the more likely it will be that Apple will acknowledge it.
I Have this anomaly too, it has happened after an auto download of IOS 8.2!! Surely Apple have a fix for this bug " If so WHEN!"
I Have the same issue on my iPhone 5s since updating to iOS 8. My music still plays on my Mazda 3 2012 TS2, but not the calls
Similar problem here. My Bluetooth connection keeps dropping and reconnecting with my 2014 Honda CR-V. When it does this, if my phone is plugged into the USB port playing my ITunes, the audio stops and I have to unplug the USB and plug it back in again to hear the music. Then the next time the Bluetooth drops, it happens again. So on my 40 minute commute to work I hear, "The phone has been connected" about 10 times which is annoying. I restarted the phone, turned the Bluetooth off and on again, with no help.
Based on how much I am seeing on the internet, this is a problem with IOS8 as well as IOS8.2. I had zero problems before the update. My issue started with IOS8, but has continued with IOS8.2. Does anyone know the best way for me to contact Apple about this, or do we think enough people have let them know by now that they are working on a fix? Thanks.

From what I can tell, since I posted this inquiry, there have been numerous responses. All with the same and/or similar problems.
In my estimation, Apple seems to be pretty oblivious to the situation.

I had the same issue, iPhone 4S, iOS 8.0.2, 2014 BMW 335i. iOS7, no issues. iOS8, as soon as car connects to phone, I get a "In conference call" message on my iDrive. There is no sound from the phone or from the car's speaker, and as far as I could tell the phone had not actually placed a call. Here's what I did to resolve the issue:
1. Start car, phone with bluetooth off. Remove phone entry from car.
2. Remove the car's entry from the iPhone
3. "Reset all network settings" on iPhone
4. Change the name of iPhone to "iPhone 4S"
5. Turn on bluetooth in car and phone
6. Pair phone with car as usual
Worked with 2014 BMW 335i (non-nav). The same fix also worked on my 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S.
Ok, I had the same problem, 4, 4s and 5s all worked fine with my car, but 6 wouldn't work correctly.
A Clean, setup as new phone worked fine. So the problem seems to be related to the iTunes backup of my previous phone.
Settings - General - Reset - Reset Network Settings : for me didn't work.
Restore with find my iPhone disabled : for me didn't work.
Restore from backup, Then, Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings : Worked!
So, I've been able to restore my backup to my new phone, and get my Bluetooth working again in my car.
Hope this helps other people.
HOORAY. Purchased new iphone6 with ios8.2 last week. Spent 5 days reading all the forums etc as to why the phone would not pair with my 2013 Toyota 4 runner and my other vehicles. My previous phone Iphone 6 with old ios worked fine in all of them. With the iphone 6, could only get the music player to pair but not the phone. I tried everything mentioned in forums including resets, restores and all that. Nothing worked. I also went to Toyota and they said I wasn't the only one with the problem. Their firmware was right up to date and that it was most definitely an Apple problem. Basically what I had was a $500 music player. If you cant use the phone in your car what good is it!!??. Went back to the Apple store this morning and caught a guy on break. He advised they were were problems with the IOS version connecting but that it was hit and miss. Some phones worked and others didn't. For instance his iphone6 with the same ios version of mine instantly paired up with my bluetooth..! Go figure. In any case, I was finally able to pair the phone After clearing EVERYTHING out of the Car radio. Phone, music players and any other bluetooth devices. I'e, starting the car system over from scratch. Then, doing the same with the Iphone. A full restore. Tried it and Bingo it paired up and and has been paired for last 4 hours. Hopefully, it will still be there tomorrow.
OH, and a big follow up. I read somewhere that you could email Tim Cook, Apple Ceo with any problems and that often he did respond. I sent an email to his email address last Friday as follows:
Hello Mr Cook,
After saving up and purchasing a new IPhone6 last week I have to say, I am thoroughly disgusted that the phone will absolutely not pair to any of my vehicles Bluetooth systems. I believe that I have read every article pertinent to this problem, including those on the various Apple forums, and it appears to definitely be a problem associated with the product. Had I been aware of this, I have to candidly say I would not have purchased the product. As a handicapped individual I don't have the luxury of pulling curbside when it's necessary to make a call. I reported this problem today to Apple support and was told engineers were aware of the problem. They could provide no timeline for a fix. Unless this problem is fixed in a timely fashion, It appears that I have no alternative except to return the phone as having a malfunction and purchasing a phone from Samsung or another source. It's a frustrating experience to say the least. Thanks for listening.
Today at noon, I actually received a phone call from the Apple executive offices with regards to the problem. I advised that the problem "seemed " to be resolved after many futile attempts. I was emailed contact info just in case the problem comes back
Bottom line: I'm happy they listen. If you're at the end of the string suggest you drop an email to Tim Cook
Very interested to see if you get a reply. I specifically wait to buy the new Apple product releases with the intent that the critical bugs will be worked out. It's May 2015 and the iPhone 6 came out....Sept 2014? I cannot pair my iPhone 6 with my Plantronics desktop wireless headset which I use for all my business communications every day. I too have invested a lot of time reading the forums and trying some of the recommended fixes. So after spending $$$ on a new phone, I cannot use my headset. My carpal tunnel is killing me as I have to keep holding my phone for 1+ hour conference calls. Sad to say, that after more than 6 months of iPhone release bluetooth issues still exist with mainstream bluetooth products (Plantronics is huge in the call center headset market). I may have to revert back to my iPhone 4.
Apple - please read the page and pages of this issues (and the very long troubleshooting and painful full reset / restore processes users are desperately resorting to) and consider prioritizing the root cause and resolution of this issue. Thank you!
In my experience the updates are the problem. My iPhone 5 worked perfectly with my 2007 Acura MDX...and then it didn't. Troubleshooting did nothing. I finally replace the bluetooth module in the car and my husbands cheap flip phone synced in no time. My iPhone is dead to my car. Now his iPad and my iPhone are also dead to our in-house stereo receiver. Seriously considering leaving the Apple family.
