How do you turn off frequently visited sites in safari for iOS8

If it's taking up half your screen, just click the "book icon" on the top left of the screen, and it will go away.

Hey, it's their forum to run, so they can run it any way they see fit.

The same would be true if you set up your own forum and paid for it. You could set up whatever rules you wanted.

@Star Traveler, looks like you found another possible way. For me, my version is still working on both devices. But good that you've found another way to do it. It's always good to have options.

On iOS, simply hold the site you want to delete from the Frequently Visited section and delete it.

In Yosemite, just click and drag the site until the puff of smoke appears.

They are talking about IOS 8. Not Safari 8.😉

Go into safari preferences, under search tab, just unclick show favorites.

That worked for me.
