loose screen on the iPhone 6?

Wish I never came across this thread now. I just pushed down firmly at the top left of my IP6 and can hear a click, and It does take quite a firm push of the finger to make it click. All those that have replacements, with a firm push there isn't any clicking at all?

This is my 2nd replacement already as the last one had a white spot. Dammit.

I have same screen issue on my white 64gb iphone 6. The lower right corner of the screen was loose and made a clicking sound. All the other corners are solid. The clicking happens intermittently, but still was almost everyday. I made an appointment at my Genius Bar, about 15 miles away, but the clicking wasn't happening at that particular moment, and the store was so loud you wouldn't hear it anyway. He implied he couldn't do anything unless he could reproduce the problem. He said that a slight amount of looseness is with tolerance "within specs" for apple. He said it could be looser in the cold and it needs some extra space to account for expansion in the heat. He didn't seem to want to exchange it and I didnt suggest it either. He took down my serial number and took it to the back and opened it up to look at it. He brought it back out and said the screws were loose at the bottom and he tightened both screws at the bottom. It seems ok now and hasn't made any clicking or looseness since then, but it's only been a few hours.

I will see if the problem returns and bring it back if it gets worse. He said it is still under hardware warranty until next September.

BTW, I had the same issue with my black iPhone 5 two years ago, except i could reproduce the problem in the store and they couldn't fix it and they agreed to exchange it, but they seemed reluctant. The second unit was perfect.

I have a similar problem - my iPhone 6 makes a clicking sound at the bottom left of the screen when pressed very lightly

This has been happening since day 1 (Sept. 19) but I have yet to go to Apple - hope it's not too late

Also my volume up button has slightly sunk in

You can still bring it to the Apple Store (you need an appointment first). The hardware warranty lasts for 12 months, but the problem needs to be reproducible in the store for them to replace it. Hopefully they can just fix this it in the store. Mine is perfect now after they tightened the screws.

Hey guys, so just an update:

I made an appointment at the Apple Store Genius Bar today to get my iPhone 6 checked out

I showed them that the screen clicks (made the Apple dude touch my iPhone) and he found that it indeed does click

I also showed him that the volume UP button has sunk in

Also while at the Apple Store, the Apple Genius noticed the front-facing camera was misaligned (showing a sort of a half-moon on the ride side)

Apple decided that the iPhone 6 had some manufacturing defects and instead of attempting to fix it, they would just give me a brand new device - which I am currently now using.

This does not count as an accidental damage - it was completely free of charge and I still have warranty on the iPhone until 2015!

The new replacement iPhone 6 that I received is perfect!

I have my fourth iP6 128 GB now. It still has the screen problem. A brand new one now is on the way to me.

I hope that at least this one will be fine. The one I have now in the beginning had the klicking only in the upper left corner. Now it has this on the whole left side. this is so annoying. I really want the iPhone 6, but for 899 Euros and don't wanna compromise.

My 10 days old iPhone 6 too has had the same problem, I have given it to apple for repair. Lets see whether they repair it or provide me with a replacement device. I have used almost all the version of iPhones till date, but never had any such issue. Didn't expect this from an iPhone

A handful of units out of millions of devices sold is not a 'common problem'.

Has anyone tried to use the pentelobe screwdriver to tighten the screen screws by himself?

After using my iPhone 6 for 2 months, the screen is popped out from the top right near the power button, right and left buttoms also click because of a bad drop!

iI'm thinking of getting those screwdrivers from Amazon and tighten it myself, what do you think?

Same here, its probably because of how thin the phone is. Does it make a popping noise when you press the top left corner of the screen? After putting a case on mine for a while it seemed to fix the issue.

I got mine from DubaI, and living in Amman, where no Apple store or authorized service center exist. That's why I'm thinking of the screwdriver thing. I've sent the Etisalat service center an email, they told that if you notice a screen pop out then your phone should be serviced, but I have no soon-to-come trips to Dubai.

And yes Josh, I feel like Apple just wanted to make a thin iPhone! But couldn't do it at least in a way to avoid those clicks on every corner when the phone gets dropped normally (From pocket level).

I sometimes use the case, yes the clicks goes away, but I like to use my iPhone without cases.

But here's the thing. Attempting to work on your iPhone yourself, will most assuredly void your warranty. That's a risk that's not worth the possible benefit. If I were you, I'd put it in a case until you can return to where you purchased it. Then show it to Apple and it will likely be replaced as a hardware issue.

Your choice of course, but if you self service your device and something more substantial happens, you'd be out of luck for something down the road.

Do what you want, but if you attempt any service to the device, it voids your warranty.

I'm from Brazil and I have the same problem. My left bottom corner clicks when I press it. I thought that I've damadged it by taking the case off, but now that I've found this post I'm very relieved. There's some dust under the camera glass protector too. Those little problems are driving me crazy! I hope apple replaces my iPhone too here in Brazil!!!
