loose screen on the iPhone 6?

Does the top left corner of the iPhone 6 have a slight give when you press on it? Every other corner seems to be solid except for that one corner. I will avoid pressing on it but my concern is that it may become loose in the future.

I just got back from the Apple store, decided I had enough time today to get in an appointment. The issue was there when I took it in (being an intermittent issue, I was worried it may not happen while in the store) and the genius was able to hear the clicking. He took it to the back and told me he took the screen off and put it back on. So far not hearing anymore clicking! I just got back so it hasn't been very long, but if it starts clicking again I'll post an update here.

I'm the same way dj3144, I'm very OCD about any little issue with the iPhone because of how much it costs and due to having a certain connotation of Apple being that of quality. It's these very reasons that I choose Apple over the other competitors, I don't want to deal with weird bezel plastic sticking out in odd places or weird noises coming from normal use. I'm worried that with the 6, due to how many are being made, perhaps they aren't able to maintain that quality I've grown to love with Apple products.

So far I'm good though, but again I'll see what happens and post an update if it starts up again. Have my fingers crossed it won't, because other than this issue, this 6 is perfect.

With respect to my original post,

I asked the service man to refix the display, the clicking went away, but not for the good,

the screen is freely depressing now šŸ˜ submitted the device and complained to apple head office and their senior advisor got in touch me, addressing my issue and assuring full co-operation. Meanwhile the phone is with them.

Will update...adios

I just came across this thread and thought i would update with my experience. The top left of my iPhone 6 is doing the clicking as mentioned before in the thread and it's noticeable enough to me to bother me. I was told by Apple support chat to take it into a local Apple Store, which just happens to be 2 hours away from where I live to have it replaced. When I arrived I had a condescending and arrogant man (apple genius) explain to me that I was crazy for wanting a replacement since I was just being picky and it didn't affect the usage of the phone I shouldn't be concerned about it. He then told me he took it out back and they all had a good laugh that I thought the phone should be replaced and that he wasnt going to do anything about it.

What should I do from here?

Thanks for the reply. I was debating on calling Apple support but I figured the complaint would likely go no where. I really do think this guy should be reprimanded since he was extremely belittling. That will be the last time I ever waste my time at that Apple store that's for sure. He even had the nerve to come back and claim the issue wasn't there after he went out back. Obviously when he was out back they applied pressure to it to make it stop. Which as we all know is only a temporary fix.

I do have apple care on this phone as well, which at this point I'm pretty thankful for.

Hi,

I have sort of the same problem, the display in the top left screen is a bit loose it seems. However, I also have a little scratch on the top left corner. The phone is two months old and I am pretty sure it should be under warranty, the scratch is not big. So I went to Media Markt where I bought it, The guy at Media Markt agreed that it should be under warranty. They sent it to an Apple Repair Store (some premium reseller) and the Apple Repair Store said the damage on the top left corner is too big and caused by me, it would not be under warranty anymore. Alright, so I went to the Apple Repair Store directly but they wouldn't want to discuss the issue. They offered me to repair it for 350ā‚¬, I declined. They sent it back to Media Markt and now Media Markt wants to charge me 40ā‚¬ for transport. hmmm. I don't feel like being treated as a valuable customer (which I should be if I pay $1k for a phone). Obviously hard to judge for everyone without knowing the actual damage on the top left corner, but let's suppose I am right and its a little bump but nothing more (I have Apple seen replace almost completely crashed phones actually). My plan was to go to an actual Apple Store now and have them checkout the issue, maybe my perception is wrong (although again think the bump is not responsible for the display getting loose). But first I have to get my phone back.. Media Markt insists on me paying 40ā‚¬ and they don't give it back to me.

Do I have any rights or does anybody have a similar experience? I live in Sweden..

Wow that ***** what you're going through. As soon as you get the phone back, never go back to that ****** third party place. Always go direct to Apple for service. If you don't have an Apple store near you, contact Apple on the phone, they can send you a new one and then have you send back the defective one (although they may put a hold for like $800 on your credit card before they'll send a replacement while you still have the original, then cancel the charge once they receive the defective unit back).

I guess if I want to have it back in time, I might have to pay. I know what my customer rights are but I don't know how to enforce them. I can hardly jump over the counter and take the phone with me. Is there a difference between going to an Apple Store to replace it and sending it to Apple? That Premium Reseller was rough, they said I had lost all the warranty on my phone. So even if the home button breaks now, I don't get it repaired. But the only damage is really that the display is getting loose in the top left corner and there is this scratch/bump on the outside of the phone on the top left corner. Maybe I am missing something but I thought that Apple is sort of flexible w.r.t. that and I actually expected that when I bought the phone.. or am I completely off the track?! All my friends tell me they got almost completely crashed phones replaced...(during the first few months)

If you have an iPhone 6, you are still covered under Apple's warranty, you can check for yourself at this page: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do

The difference between going to a store and dealing with Apple support on the phone is just that, one you go to a store and deal with someone directly, where they can get your issue resolved (assuming it's covered under warranty and not due to accidental damage). The phone method is less direct in the sense that you're on the phone with someone instead of in person face to face, plus the added negative of having to ship products back and forth which means a few days, or possibly a few weeks depending on how fast they can get it shipped to you.

To sort of change the subject, mine started the clicking noise again so I went back to the store today and they ended up replacing the entire phone. The guy I got mentioned that it could be the bracket inside of the phone, not necessarily the display itself so a full replacement would be the best option. Real happy with how it played out.

So far this newest one is good, finally no weird issues.

Lol, wow I have horrible luck. Just noticed a piece of dust under the display on my replacement.

I'm really feeling weird about this, this is my 4th iPhone 6 that's had one issue or another. I'm starting to think it's not possible to get an iPhone 6 that doesn't have some kind of problem.

I don't even know what I'll do now. The dust is going to annoy the heck out of me, I know it will. But I can't just keep going back and forth from the Apple store each and every time I find the next issue. Maybe I'll go with the online support people and just have one shipped to me. šŸ˜Ÿ

Feb 20, 2015 12:50 AM in response to JB088

just received a call from one of the senior advisor from apple india.

The senior advisor had a word with the service centre which claims that the depression of screen is withing acceptable limits and is common on other iphone 6 as well. Moreover, according to them the clicking is too intermittent to be of any concern and hence will not be entertaining any replacement in this case. Repair is not an option.

Final solution provided to me: The service centre will not give me a replacement, instead the team from advisor side will send me a fresh piece in the name of customer satisfaction and quoted it as a one time exception replacement since the service centre accepted that an intermittent issue exists.

Verdict: The service center people will not entertain such issues in future unless absolute necessary. I do agree that my click was intermittent, but them telling that it was normal and screen depression is common was unexpected šŸ˜ Now waiting for a new set, fingers crossed!

I'm on my Second phone now [ iPhone 6 space grey 64 GB ]. First phone had loose screen after two weeks so took it in and they replaced the screen, this last about 6 hours before becoming loose so went back to the store where they gave me a replacement phone. 50 mile round trip each time i have to visit the store. I thoroughly checked this phone before leaving the store and all was fine. By the time I got home the same thing was there again, loose screen in top left corner near the volume buttons. So this means another trip to the apple store. This is obviously a massive problem with this handset and something that Apple should be concerned about. The build quality of these handsets is no where near that of the older models. Apple should hang their heads in shame when they are charging us Ā£600 for this trash. I will be going back to the store again where they will no doubt give me another phone. I am also going to contact my carrier o2 to see what they can do about this and see if I can switch to another brand i.e. Samsung or HTC. I can not believe that Apple are not admitting there is a problem with this, burying your head in the sand is not an option and we all need to speak up and be heard or nothing will be done. One very disappointed Apple customer here.
