iPhone 6 Plus Bluetooth Volume Extremely Low

I purchased an iPhone 6+ and have paired it to my car (Ford) and motorcycle (Harley) but have an issue where the volume turned all the way up to max, you can barely hear when playing music. The sound is normal when email, messages or Siri is used, only music seems to be low. I have tried resetting settings and deleted paring to no avail. This is also happening for my girlfriends 6+ in her vehicle with aftermarket Pioneer stereo.

At first I thought it might have been an iOS 8 issue, but had updated my 5s to iOS 8 when it was released and bluetooth sound worked perfectly the couple days I used it after upgrading. Maybe this has to do with the A2DP Profile on the i6?

Side note: Volume works as designed when plugged in via the USB/Lightning cable.

Are there others having the same issue?

I'm experiencing the same problem with my 2012 Toyota Yaris' Toyota Touch sound system. The problem is present since iOS 8 release, because before then the sound was fine and this problem doesn't exist. First with my iPhone 5S, now with my iPhone 6 and always with my iPad mini retina display. All them with the same issue. As it was said by dj3144the problem can be temporally fixed by killing Facebook app in background. It seems like a joke but it really works.

I Get this problem with a pioneer stereo system in my car. Only temporary solutions I know are restarting your phone or sometimes if I open my mail app and I get new mail I get a alert sound and it usually goes back to normal (doesnt always work). I'll try using a alert sound a easier way next time this happens cause I don't get many emails. if it works i'll let everyone know.

I encountered this for the first time tonight, after using a Bluetooth speaker for months with no issue. Using the Music app, volume (output, not slider setting) would drop drastically when advancing to the next song. Scrubbing/advancing further into the song would fix it, but the volume would drop again in following songs. I'm using an iPhone 6 on iOS 8.4.

I force-closed all apps and it fixed the problem. I had many apps in the background, including Facebook, Spotify, Overcast (podcast app,) and Twitch (streaming video app.) All have audio permissions, so I couldn't say which one(s) was the culprit. Give it a shot.

Having this problem here occasionally with my iPhone 6 connected through Bluetooth to car stereo and headphones. Wired connections are always fine.

As someone has already said, I'm pretty sure this is caused by the Facebook app (or similar) affecting the volume in the background.

As a quick fix, I've discovered that hitting fast-forward (hold down skip-forward button) then hitting play fixes the volume instantly. Also, in podcasts, hitting the skip-15-seconds button also works.

Disabling "Sound Check" in the Music settings also increases the volume significantly.

Hope that's useful to someone!

I also had this issue with two devices. (iPhone 6+ and Marshall Stanmore Bluetooth speaker/Mercedes COMAND - sound normal for OS, and notifications, Music and Spotify super low volume)

The following actions did not resolve it:

A) Turning Bluetooth on and off.

B) Re-Pairing phone and speaker.

C) Closing and relaunching apps.

D) Power Cycling Speaker.

E) Updating phone.

F) Removing phone from authorized device list in car.

This Solution worked for me:

1) Under Settings>Bluetooth locate the name of the device [in my case STANMORE Speaker / MB Bluetooth]

2) Tap ℹ icon

3) Tap "Forget This Device"

4) Reauthorize and Re-pair

After these steps the volume issue was corrected for both the speaker and my car.
