Turning off Bluetooth speaker, triggers iTunes App to open

Whenever powering off my Bose Soundlink Mini speaker (from the speaker itself), it will trigger iTunes to automatically open. Is there a fix for this? Has anyone else had this issue? I tried a suggested solution from online by doing the following: but unfortunately, it also renders the iTunes app useless, and disables it completely. Is this a bug, or is there a preference somewhere to stop this behavior?

Show package contents on iTunes.app. Inside the MacOS folder there is a unix script called iTunes, I renamed it iTunesclosed. Also renamed ituneshelper.app to ituneshelpdisabled.app

Further Information:

Running OSX 10.95

rMBP (late 2013)

iTunes 11.4

Still no workaround for the persistently annoying glitch. Apple really need to address this issue before my Soundlink ends up in the bin and I return to cabled audio devices.

Taking my laptop out in public has become a nerve racking experience when I'm never sure whether it will wake with the sound of my iTunes belting across the library or the subway...

A highly embarrassing experience that seems to be 50:50 these days. If I forget to silence or switch off iTunes before I leave the house without my headphones the situation cannot be avoided either.

Ok, so i've found a sort of fix via this link: iTunes starts up whenever I connect my bluetooth headset

"I've got this figured out.

On OSX, the "RCD" (remote control daemon) is responsible for the naughtiness. It has hard-coded list of actions to do when it detects certain "events" - one of them being connecting to a bluetooth headset.

To disable this behaviour (minimal loss of functionality, possibly your apple remote won't work):

1. Open Terminal

2. Enter (these are two separate commands)

launchctl stop com.apple.rcd

launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.rcd.plist

This should stop rcd from being launched by OSX. No rcd - no auto-magic multimedia. Your volume keys should continue working, but things like play key (or bluetooth) auto-starting iTunes should stop."

It'll stop iTunes opening, and music playing when my Bose Soundlink mini turns itself off, but as stated the play, back and forward keys stop working on the keyboard. It's a small price to pay to be honest.
