so its about 8 months the problem was first reported, and Mac users continue to face this while using an accessory sold in Apple stores.

Same problem. Still not fixed. My A/C runs loud at night, so I use Bose Bluetooth SoundLink Mini next to my bed to play music from my Mac. I fall asleep, the album in iTunes ends, and eventually the SoundLink Mini will auto-shut off during the night. As soon as that happens, it triggers my iTunes to automatically start cranking out the same album I was listening to when I was going to sleep. But now it's 4 in the morning and it's coming out of my Mac speakers. I'm jolted awake! This needs a fix.

Same for me, it's driving me nuts 😝

When the Bose turns off, everything starts playing.. sometimes at night.

Please Apple turn this off!

This worked for me so far! Thank you, it was very frustrating. Never have used the Skip and play buttons anyway.

I'm not seeing this behavior any more in the latest El Capitan beta (15A235d). Hopefully its not a "bug"

Having the same problem with my Bose Soundlink III. Sent feedback to Apple, but not optimistic, given the volume of queries here. Thinking of trying this fix: http://www.thebitguru.com/projects/iTunesPatch, which I found online ... but I'm no programmer, and worried I'll screw things up.

I experienced the same for my Bose Mini Soundlink - pleased to report the problem appears to have been fixed with the Bose Mini Soundlink II.

Does anyone know if there has been any progress with this?

Seriously. I've had to completely disable iTunes and look for other audio/video playback solutions just because Apple refuses to fix this bug. Incomprehensible.

The "genius" at the "genius" bar is useless by the way. Please fix this Apple. Insanely basic request.
