Turning off Bluetooth speaker, triggers iTunes App to open

Whenever powering off my Bose Soundlink Mini speaker (from the speaker itself), it will trigger iTunes to automatically open. Is there a fix for this? Has anyone else had this issue? I tried a suggested solution from online by doing the following: but unfortunately, it also renders the iTunes app useless, and disables it completely. Is this a bug, or is there a preference somewhere to stop this behavior?

Show package contents on iTunes.app. Inside the MacOS folder there is a unix script called iTunes, I renamed it iTunesclosed. Also renamed ituneshelper.app to ituneshelpdisabled.app

Further Information:

Running OSX 10.95

rMBP (late 2013)

I've tried everything to keep the dreaded iTunes from auto-starting at the slightest provocation, and nothing works to halt this extraordinarily unwelcome 'feature'. AppleCare is unable to help, and wasting hours of my life in a user forum is not an especially good option either.

What else can Apple do to fan the flames of dislike towards the notorious iTunes?

Who knows? But it's a good question. I've all but given up on iTunes, especially after the Apple technical person gave me bad instructions that obliterated a painstakingly crafted iTunes playlists (really, only about 100 hours worth of work over a few years -- I had asked about a dozen times, "This isn't going to trash my playlists is it?" Nooooo.). I'm having the same problem. When my Bose Bluetooth speaker turns off, iTunes starts playing music through the Macintosh speakers.

Since I am on the phone during the day quite a bit I have the sound going through the bluetooth Bose inbetween my times on the phone, which I recently started doing however if the Bose Shuts Off unexpectedly then Itunes plays a maybe instead of apple providing a solution there is a solution for Bose? Why does the Bose turn off other then battery life sometimes would be my question.

This issue has since been resolved. Both Bose and Apple were at fault.

Bose was at fault for shutting down their speakers after a certain period of inactivity, with no ability to disable this behavior.

Apple's OS was at fault for randomly launching iTunes when a speaker goes offline.

For their part, Bose fixed their problem. The latest version of their speaker now has an option to prevent the speaker from turning off after an extended period of activity.

Apple never did fix the serious bug in their software that causes iTunes to launch (and play) when a Bluetooth speaker disconnects.

The only solution is to upgrade to the latest Bose speaker and prevent it from turning itself off using the new option. Apple's primary focus is clearly on phones and wearable gadgetry now, so the odds of them fixing their OS are pretty slim.
