iPhone 6 screen easily scratched?
Have been taking EXTREMELY good care of my 6+, but the corners already have visible scratches. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm sorry you found my post questionable. I came here because I noticed people were getting scratches and I wasn't. I even went out and bought a screen protector, but it didn't fit well and I took it off. I'm nothing more than someone who's interested in the topic, and who doesn't have any issues......yet. I'm sorry your screen has scratched, but trust me when I say I have no hidden agenda.
I also wanted to post an update. My company purchased 3 new 6s and mine was the only one with the scratching issue. My wife got her 6+ a week ago and has had no issues with her screen as well. I believe there was a bad batch that went out because it is clear the majority of people who purchased one of these phones have no issues. For me it was 1 out of 4. Going to contact Apple about mine.
I wonder if there's a defect only from a certain factory or supplier. Not sure how Apple's supply chain works, but I doubt that every single screen is coming from the same location.
About a week after I got my device, I noticed a bunch of light scratches that I think came from a brass rivet on my jeans. There was also a single scratch deep enough to catch my fingernail on.
I then dropped the phone on Friday night about 18" from a shirt pocket while leaning forward in a chair to grab something off the ground. As a result, the top right and bottom left corners both cracked. This didn't bother me so much since neither crack entered the screen area. Last night, the device fell out of my back pocket while I was getting undressed. It couldn't have been more than 12", and the screen developed a single crack right down the middle. This is probably expected as the glass was weakened by the initial damage.
I read that SquareTrade rated this the most durable iPhone to date. I've had the 3Gs, 4, and 5, and have dropped each of them a handful of times without cracking the screen. I've also never seen scratching like this without an obvious cause. I remember a few scratches on all of my previous phones, but that was always after the honeymoon phase wore off and I stopped caring about keeping keys and phone in the same pocket.
I'm probably going to wait a while to get my screen replaced; I don't want to pay $109 to have potentially defective glass installed on my phone again.
Like everyone else almost, new iPhone 6 Plus not even a week old and a hairline scratch. I've had the 3GS & 4S along with many other devices and I've never had a scratched screen. Very disappointe.
Brass' hardness is rated around 3.5-4 on the Moh Scale of hardness. It actually shouldn't be able to scratch the polished, steel backing of the older iPods. The coating generally has a hardness between 6 and 7 while the glass is at a 9.
This is assuming the coating isn't defective (different consistency and ratios in the coating will result in varying hardness).
With that said, the chances of you getting an iPhone that is defective is pretty low (this issue doesn't effect the majority of users).
I found that the Defender case had several problems: The screen protector was not attached to the glass, dirt could get in there and it reduced the touch sensitivity of the screen. I removed it but found the iPhone 6 fit loosely in the plastic holder of the case so I cut down the screen protector to fit just inside the frame and carefully glued it with some high strength cement. I used the cheap Verizon plastic screen protector, worked just fine.
Bought the Zagg glass and it does totally hide the hairline scratch.

Does your Zagg Glass completely seal all around the edges? After 7 failed attempts with Zagg Glass on my Space Grey iPhone 6, my local Best Buy actually pulled them off the shelf and sent them all back. Maybe they got a bad batch. I really liked the feel of it and really hoped it would work, but I couldn't stand how it didn't seal all the way around. Dust even got under the left edge.
Took the advice of other commenters on here. Went through Apple support chat and they just mailed out my replacement phone. Gave the super helpful rep a link to this thread. I was really upset with my Apple product after this scratching incident, but after speaking with support I am reminded why i buy their products and that is for the amazing support. Hope this helps everyone else out there.
I have the 6 plus and it doesn't seal all the way to the edges. Happy for now because I can't see the scratch anymore. I just bought it so I have'nt had a chance to see if it's going to cause more harm then good. If a lot of people return them maybe by the time I need a replacement it will be fixed.
That's a shame. I went to the Zagg site and let them know the Zagg Glass has an issue. It just annoyed me too much, but I do hope they solve it as I'd certainly try it again.
Got a new iPhone 6 (thanks to AppleCare livechat) a few days ago and no scratches anymore with same usage (jeans pocket).
I think some early iphone6 really have a production issue with the glass or protection on it. Apple should replace them all!
That is my sense, just reading through this thread. I got my phone a little after the first rush, and no problems. My friend who got a "prerelease" phone the week before they went on sale has the scratching issue.
Interesting (related?) article about the release of the iPhone 5: http://www.applesheet.com/apple-slows-iphone-5-production-to-fix-scratching-issu e/
If you read carefully, it appears they are referring to the back panel of iPhone 5 scratching. iPhone 5 was the first phone to have an all aluminum back plate as opposed the previous model having glass over aluminum.
