iPhone 6 screen easily scratched?
Have been taking EXTREMELY good care of my 6+, but the corners already have visible scratches. Anyone else experiencing this?

Have been taking EXTREMELY good care of my 6+, but the corners already have visible scratches. Anyone else experiencing this?
iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8
I have iPhone 6 and this worries me a little. Mine doesn't have any scratches yet and I have been very careful with it.
I had the iPhone 4s and i had screen protector on all the time.
However, for iPhone 6 I don't see myself getting the screen protector because the edges are curved and the screen protector will be actually have to be smaller to avoid the curve, which inhibits the view of the screen.
Anybody have good screen protecting solution for iPhone 6?
One more checking in with the same problem. I got my 6 last Wednesday and already have two hairline scratches on the screen. In three years with a 4s and 5s combined, neither had any kind of scratch at all on the screen. I have only ever bothered with a bumper case and never with the screen covers, but I guess I may need to consider it now. Highly frustrating for sure.
Just wanted to post an update. I have been doing a lot of searching on this topic and found a helpful discussion on Macrumors (google search "iphone 6 hairline scratches"). From one of the posters on there: "If you mean microscratches on the screen that are visible only under certain lights and angles, they're oleophobic coating scratches and are normal with use."
My brother-in-law runs a few Invisible Shield kiosks and he told me he has seen a lot of iPhone 6's with these. He said they will only continue to get worse with time. I am a bit disappointed because the look and feel of this screen is addicting. However, I know its going to drive me crazy if it gets worse so I am going to have him shield it.
Ok, same here. This cant be real! I have watched the phone very much and today in the morning I have seen about 5 to 8 scratches. This can't be real. I was having iPhone 4, 4S, 5S and no one did have so much scratches in years like this one (iPhone 6 4.7) in 3 days of use! I was shocked! One scratch you can fill with fingernail. This can't be. Im very disapointed! For the phone in this price rank this is not acceptable! In 3 days of use the screen is like it would be 2 years old! On my Android that I was have it for 2 years before this phone there is not so much scratches like this! I hope Apple will do something about this!
Same. My iPhone6 has a fairly deep cm scratch in the middle of the screen. Had the 3G, 4 and 5 with extremely minimal scratching over the course of 2 years each. My girlfriend's iPhone 6 had even more scratches on the screen but she will be getting a new phone since she dropped her's in the toilet over the weekend.
Still have to wonder if this is a production issue with the larger screens.
+1 on my 1 week old iPhone 6 there is lots of scuffs and scratches. I am careful with my phones and my 3G, 4 and 5 never had a scratch and had them all for 2 years each. Not good enough Apple
Yep - I'll ad to this.
I received my iPhone 6 on September 19th, and it's been in an Apple leather case since. It has inexplicably begun developing hairline scuffs and scratches on all four corners of the screen, where the curve rolls out to meet the flat area of the screen. They're all coming from the outside in, in direction. Never aligned along the long axis of the phone. They're also slowly creeping up the sides from the corners.
its really unbelievable. I've only ever kept the phone in business slacks pockets, by itself. No keys in the same pocket, etc. I carried my 5s in exactly the same manner for 1 year, and it is in immaculate condition. There is not one single scratch on it. Not one.
i expect better than this from Apple. I expect better than this from a device I paid nearly $800 for.
I am also getting a lot of scratches on my iPhone 6. It's barely been over a week and I have about 5 hairline scratches that really stick out in the right light. I had a 3Gs, 4s, and 5s that I used without a screen protector and even carried in the same pocket as my keys and never had a single scratch. I'm definitely concerned and disappointed with how easily the iPhone 6 is getting scratched.
I bought the invishield glass and so far it has done a very good job. It says it's supposed to be indestructible but it's not, there is a little tiny chip in it from falling out of my pocket while getting in my car. I sent it back in and they replaced no hassle just had to pay a total of $8 for shipping. Mare sure you don't place it along with keys, or if setting it down make sure you don't put it face down.
I had my 6 plus for 3 days and noticed a large scratch on the screen. I've been babying it the entire time too... And I had it in a case!
I'm just about sick about it. I have no clue where the scratch came from and I've never scratched a iPhone before... My iPhone 5 was in Mint condition after 2 years and I never used a screen protector on it.
I was so excited to get my new phone too...
I started to notice scratches showing up on my iPhone 6 after about a week. Since then there are more and more fine scratches. I have had the 3G, 4, 4S, 5 and 5S prior to this and never had this issue with them. I am disappointed Apple.......
I too have an iPhone 6 (4.7) with a small but noticeable scratch in the middle of the screen. I keep my phone in a case and in my pocket without anything touching it, and I am very careful with it. I have not dropped it yet. I have also owned an iPhone 3G, 4, and 5 and, like others mentioned, I never had this problem or used a screen protector before.
I really hope this is a manufacturing issue that Apple corrects. I can't imagine how bad it will get if there is already a scratch on the screen after less than 2 weeks of very careful use. And, my wife just got a new iPhone 6 and she throws her phone in her purse all the time. That could be bad....
I have a iphone 6 4.7inch and it has scratches already. I never used a screen protector on my iPhone 4, 4s, 5, or 5s and have never had any issues with scratching. I wish apple would have told everyone who is used to the old screens that the new one scratches really easily. This is going to be a major problem for anyone who has had an older iPhone and got used to the hard screens that didn't scratch. I understand iPhone 6 users all need screen protectors... its just to late and its frustrating. I am sure Apple has lots of great reasons for the new screen but its to bad that the new one scratches so easily.... its a major draw back. Maybe they will make an iPhone 6s mini next year and go back to the old sapphire glass.
iPhone 6 here and yes, mine is also scratched already and I have handled it with kid gloves. Couldn't be more disappointed Apple!
Same here. iPhone 6 4.7" scratching slightly around the edges and some in the centre.
Had a 3G, 4, 2x 5 and a 5S + various iPods and never had this issue, never used a case.
It's disgusting the way Apple react too:
"Put in a case"
Ok can I see your official cases?
"Here they are sir"
But they don't cover the screen...
"Then purchase a screen protector"
Can I see your official screen protectors?
"Apple don't provide official screen protectors, please seek a third party alternative"
But if a third party screen protector damages my screen am I covered?
"No"
So there's no official solution for this problem. Apple don't make the screen tough enough so we either risk it bare or risk a third party protector.
And all the protectors I've seen cover the flat section of the screen, not the edges which are still susceptible to scratching.
