iPhone 6 screen easily scratched?

Have been taking EXTREMELY good care of my 6+, but the corners already have visible scratches. Anyone else experiencing this?

Here's my info...

I also just noticed a dead pixel on this 6 Plus as well. It's small but it's a bummer, and like the scratches, once you notice it, you can't "unsee" it. Looks like I should have enough reason to request a replacement. But now I'll have to order another full body wrap from BSE, and go through the "fun" process(es) of backing up & restoring. I hate that. Anyways... Hope this helps those of you who understand what it means. Thanks

Has anyone reported this issue with a Silver or Gold version? If it's only Space Gray, that should clearly indicate it's a manufacturing issue with the plant(s) that were making Space Gray units.

A colleague of mine has a 6+ in Silver/White... she says she just throws it in her purse (no case, no screen protector) without any regard for what's in there... and its screen is as clean as we all recall our iphone 4s and 5s were.

I really don't like the white face plate... but maybe we just need to suck it up and switch to that. Though I understand from earlier posts it's been a mixed bag whether the stores will let you change colors (why, I don't understand...)

That's about where I'm at. And that is what the Apple rep suggested to another poster here. I really need to change carriers and, thus, upgrade to the iPhone 6 now. But I don't want to think about what the scratches would look like in a few months. So I might just go for the silver one. I wonder why it is that the white is better than the space gray. Maybe something to do with how light reflects off of the different colored surfaces? Or different suppliers made different colored screens?

Thanks to everyone who has posted the details about their phones and build dates.

Lasteg, thanks for the info and for posting that pic.

To CalBear,

"Or maybe it's just the different assembly lines. The one(s) for Space Gray has (had/will have had) an issue with how the coating was applied. I think the current theory is that if the coating is too thick, it creates enough of a "channel" (like in a clear coat) to reflect light along a scratch's edges."

I haven't been able to find any articles that discuss where the coating is applied - on the manufacturing line or by the screen suppliers. And former friends who were at Apple went elsewhere so I can't ask them. Have you seen anything? In any event, looking at this after such a short period of time, I feel your pain.

My iPhone 6 scratched too. I keep it in an empty pocket. No screen protector. I treated my iPhone 4S in the exact same way. after over two years, no scratches on the glass. After a month the new is scratched. Sad. 😟

I don't use a case after reading the book about steve jobs. He wanted the phones to be works of art (and useful). I can't bring myself to cover them up....and I hate the feel of screen protectors.

I'll just add a data point. I've had my iPhone 6 for less than a month and it already has a small but deep scratch on the front of the display (right where the input box for composing a text message starts - really bad luck). The phone is the standard 6, gold color. It's always been in a bumper-style case. I don't put it the same pocket where my keys are, take really good care of it, etc.

For comparison, I had my iphone 4 for 4+ years, took it everywhere (including wilderness backpacking many times) and had only one scratch on it the entire time, and that was not nearly as noticeable as this one.

I respect that others aren't seeing problems. But given the length of this thread already, I can't but wonder if there are different batches of the screen glass or screen coating, such that some are much more scratch-prone than others?
