iPhone 6 screen easily scratched?

Have been taking EXTREMELY good care of my 6+, but the corners already have visible scratches. Anyone else experiencing this?

A step backwards for Apple....

I've never owned an iPhone mainly because of their short battery life, but i have bought some ipods, i still have the Ipod touch 4G FULL of scratches, when the ipod touch 5G arrived it was just a great improvement, 0 scratches after more than 2 years of use...

I went to an Apple store today i held an iphone 6 and i could see two scratches, went to a different store then i see hairlines at the bottom of that.

Hold 2 iphones 6+ i couldn't see a scratch on those.

On white models this is more difficult to detect because of the color i'd say.

I was thinking about buying an iphone 6 but now i prefer to wait for the Galaxy S6 (i bought the 1st and 3rd generations) and time to change model.

Eventhough i bought an ipad air 2 a week ago downsides?: battery life and of course the stupid vibration, these Apple guys are obsessive compulsive regarding thinness... i guess this is my last ipad but so far 0 scratches.

That is so strange. I really thought it was only me. The top left corner of my three day old 6+ has a few scratches on it, but I can't recall being in any situation where it could have been damaged. I personally think Apple rushed the glass chosen for the 6/6+ due to their sapphire predicament with GT, and as a quick fix, they simply settled for a lower quality material.

I just noticed that gray ring too. It's like a crescent moon on the right side. I won't hijack this thread, but you're saying it'll start to move around? Will it block the camera?

Wow, what quality problems with the 6 -- probably either due to the thinner size, the laziness of Apple employees now that Steve Jobs has passed, or a short-minded focus on even higher margins for Wall Street (again, because Jobs has passed).

Apple respond to me four times repeating " Cosmetic will not be covered by warranty".

I think it either you pay $129 to replace the screen or uses till other "Hardware faults" then replacement will be granted.

I initial thought of buying a applecare for my iphone 6plus just like my other mac products, but now i'm lost to decide should i trust them anymore.

If you're doing to just replace your phone cheaper, the additional AppleCare won't do that. If you're doing it for extended warranty (an additional year), it may be worth it. Break down of math (for your phone) below:

AppleCare+:

  • 99 dollars to sign up
  • 89 per replacement (up to 2; 129 thereafter)
  • 1 replacement = 99 + 89 = 188
  • 2 replacements = 99 + 2*89 = 277

Standard warranty:

  • 129 per replacement
  • 1 replacement = 129
  • 2 replacements = 258

Notice how for either 1 replacement or 2, you're paying less with the standard warranty. With AppleCare+, once you go past 2 replacements, you are charged the full 129.

Yes! The screen of my iPhone 6 seems fragile.

I take extremely good care of my iPhone 6. But still... I wonder how long I'll be able to keep the surface of my screen in a decent shape.

Owning it for 2 months now, I can say that the screen is pretty fragile; prone to scratches.

Essentially I came up with these attitudes : put it in an empty pocket only (contact with keys is fatal - avoid any contact with metal.). Try to never leave it on its glass (screen) side.

It's my first iPhone. I can honestly say that this makes be disappointed.

Strange

this my fifth iPhone and so far this is the best screen.

I dont have a case, no screen protector, I leave it on screen all the time to have flash Alert.

I have it since the first day, no scratch

With other iphone, I use to have scratch, so far it is the best i had.

could some Batch had problem,

maybe we should start to look at serial number to try to track the problematic batch.

Same here I have taken extreme care of my iPhone 6+ even bought a silicon Apple (Red) case before the Lifeproof cases are available to protect it. After just 3 days there were scratches on the front screen. I am surprised because my iPhone 5 has none on there after 2 years. I can't really see the scratches when the phone is turned on but it does need to be addressed by Apple. Screens should be protected for the lifetime of the warranty. I purchased the Verizon warranty so if I do anything to it all I have to do is pay a deductible to get a replacement. Apple please fix this, I know it is fruitless to go into the store because all that will happen is the Apple Store employee rejecting the claim based on cosmetic damages. Take care of your customers Apple. Let me know if I can take my phone in for a replacement or fix. The phone is awesome just address the scratched screen issues. iPhone 6+ is very prone to scratches Jonny Ive.
