iPhone 6 screen easily scratched?
Have been taking EXTREMELY good care of my 6+, but the corners already have visible scratches. Anyone else experiencing this?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8
I Have had every generation of iPhone since the 3GS and have never scratched the screen before.... Until now. I have been EXTREMELY careful with my iPhone 6 Plus, but just yesterday noticed a scratch in the top right of the screen. I have no idea how this happened, but it wasn't from dropping it. I have not once dropped my phone. It doesn't even come out of its Apple leather case.
This is is disappointing. I hope Apple does something about this, because I don't want to have to put a screen protector on. I never had to use one before...
Their reply to me... "It is not a known case".
They seems nobody got the same problems like most of us here do to apple.
Sad, my past iphones and other smartphone do not have such issues.
I strongly believes a scratch resistant glass should not be scratched in empty pockets.
Esp within few days of normal well-taken care condition.
YES! My month old iPhone 6 has developed some fine scratches on the screen, and I am surprised this has happened as I use my phone with extreme care. I was using an iPhone 4 for the past 3 years without any screen protector, and never faced any scratches on the screen. And I have to admit I used that phone pretty rough during the 3rd year. I am very disappointed with this issue and am relieved in a way to see that I'm not the only one facing this problem. Apple better do something to rectify this.
Had a decent scratch after less than 2 weeks. Only thing the genius did was provide a free screen protector.
Haha.. Think there is no apple staffs here to help us here with our reviews.
I don't know how long more i will bottle-neck this unhappiness and flare at my Singapore Apple service centre staffs.
If i flare means no more apple products in future.
Wasted so much on the apps store software and games.
It a pity but it really is a disappointment for their reply to me.
Insulting a person intelligence, as I'm also a retail salesman.
Of course i understand cosmetic is not covered for item warranty.
But currently is seems more like a over-promise and over-trusting on this Premium Brand.
Paying over thousand of dollars to get a smart phone with scratch resistant glass which will get scratched just by putting in a empty-pocket.
Oh well.. I will bottling my unhappiness up.. Awaiting to flare..
Why the ipad air 2 which is bigger and less expensive (16Gb Version) got the antireflective coating and the iphone 6 (16GB) which is more expensive didn't?
I thought it was me wiping my iPhone 6 screen carelessly.....
I got my phone on the launch day. I've always been very careful about the phone whether or not I used a case. This time, I didn't use a case for my iPhone 6. Only about 10 days later, I noticed a 1-inch length of spiderweb line on my screen. Then I noticed some smaller fine lines. The same way I used my iPhone 5S as I did with my new iPhone 6. The iPhone 6 screen seems easily scratched.
I called AppleCare and explained to them about what happened to my screen. They sent me a replacement unit and I just sent the scratched screen phone back. They didn't charge me for replacement either. That's the nice thing.
Yes, my iPhone 6's screen is prone to scratches as compared to all my previous iPhones. Had scratches within 2 weeks. I had to stick on a screen protector thereafter to prevent the situation getting worst.
The same thing happened to my iPad Air 2's screen as well...
These screens used in the latest iPhones and iPads definitely are "weaker" in terms of surface hardness...
Add me to the list. My iPhone 6 has two scratches that I never had gotten with my iPhone 1, 2, 3, 4, 4s, 5, or 5s. Screen is definitely of inferior material.
Still not sure why this is still an issue. As I've posted several times I went to an Apple Store and was given a new phone no questions asked. New phone has no issues with several weeks of the same use.
Same here, never had a scratch on all my 5 previous iPhones. I have a noticeable one on my iPhone 6 already. It has been in an Apple case from day one.
I really look after my kit and I am surprised to see scratches.
That thing is not gonna last a year.
Like in my previous posts I too have scratches but (yes there is a but), the scratches I have on my screen are also like others have reported there in the first weeks. We are now weeks later and there are no additional scratches which feeds the theory that there is something wrong with the used oleophobic coating imho. The problems are not the screens of that I am convinced, it is the coating. I have read other posts that people say that after a while the coating wears off and hence the scratches will be gone but unfortunately this is unacceptable for such an expensive albeit beautiful phone.
update & fyi...
i just noticed this thread was mentioned on AppleInsider: http://appleinsider.com/articles/14/11/24/iphone-6-6-plus-owners-complain-of-eas ily-scratched-screens-
that's pretty heavy right? is our issue finally receiving the credibility it deserves? though the pictures they highlighted showed scratches that looked much worse than mine. their pics show "gouges"... but my scratches were nearly invisible... i didn't even bother trying to document mine with photos (but i should have). also, after i discovered the dead pixel i mentioned earlier, i made a genius bar appointment to see if they could help me out. i had resigned myself to the fact that I was stuck with the scratches and that I wouldn't get any help for that particular issue.
but when i sat down, the Genius took a brief glance at my phone, and started the exchange process like it was nothing. as he was doing his thing, i told him i didn't want to be "that guy" and complain about relatively little things, but that i also felt like it was worth mentioning and couldn't hurt asking about it. so i pointed out the dead pixel and mentioned the scuffs under my wrap too. he said the phone would be recycled and not to worry about it... that the phone would go to somebody else or something.
they were so very cool about it. for the record, i politely asked the Genius if he was going to give me a "refurbished" iPhone 6 Plus, because if that was the case, I'd be interested to know about my options... a screen replacement, etc. Not that theres anything wrong with refurbs, but my phone was brand new and I secretly hoped for a new phone (or a repair to my new phone, so when in inevitable resell the device, it can be from good stock).
He informed me that they "CANT" refurb 6+'s... They simply don't do it for that model (didn't ask about regular 6's). Then he pulled out a phone from a drawer and started the exchange. It wasn't from a sealed retail box, but it looked pristine and came with the protective plastic wrapped around the front and back that you get from a retail unboxing.
once i sat down at the bar, i was probably out of there in 10 minutes. that was the quickest genius bar appt i've ever experienced. so anyways, i got a brand new phone, kept the plastic on it until my new BSE wrap (matte back/glossy screen) arrived yesterday, and I'm about to wrap up my new one tonight. Not taking any more chances, but after this experience, my confidence in Apple was reaffirmed.
peace everybody... and thanks for the data visualization tools, etc.
