iPhone 6 screen easily scratched?

They looked at them because they are scratched there and you pointed it out loud enough for others to hear you.

And you were busy complaining to the manager yet you managed to notice other customers were pointing "at the same spots" on that small screen?

Then you were obviously talking more loudly than 'just above a whisper'. You can't have it both ways. Either you were being discreet (and no one else would have overheard your conversation and known what you were talking about), or you were not being discreet. Obviously, it was the later.

You'v been given your answer. It's not covered under warranty, and you can pay for service if you want. You've gone far beyond the scope of this forum.

Either abide by Apple's decision, request an exception from Apple, or move on.

It is called moving on and also taking the 10k a month my company was spending with them away from them as well

Follow up. I had a small, difficult to see scratch. Had the screen replacement, I paid. Got home, looked under bright light - multiple small scratches on the screen! Worse than the one I replaced. So annoying! Now I am out $155. I contacted apple via chat to try and establish that this was the way my phone was when I got home. Have to go back to Apple store which I am sure will waste another afternoon! So annoying. I hope I get this fixed, for free!

Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

The glass (or the coating on it) is so easily scratched that it's likely it was scratched at the store during the replacement procedure. The stores do not have the same clean environment as the factories where the phones are assembled — although it's also possible to get a phone with its glass scratched already at the factory: my new iPhone 6 Plus had a scratch under the screen's protective plastic when I unboxed it.

I would suggest you request a refund for the glass replacement, or a new phone. However, I think a new phone won't be any more scratch resistant than your old one: we probably have to wait for the 6S for that (it will most likely feature the new Gorilla Glass 4).

If you get a refund for the glass replacement, it might be a good idea to save the money towards upgrading to 6S. Going from 6 to 6S will cost more than usually, because the scratches will hurt the resale value of iPhone 6. We'll end up paying for the defective glass on iPhone 6 one way or the other, so I would advice against spending (wasting) any money in screen replacements for scratches alone.

DPes the iPhone 6 has a gorilla glass on it? I thought they used a different glass this time.

What I find strange is that there are some videos that they try to scratch the screen with a knife and it did not scratch.

THen i I found this thread and they experience scratches out of no where.

Could be that some screen are kinda defective?

Thanks, good advice I think. I could not get through to Apple today, so will try tomorrow. Will ask for exchange or refund as you suggest. Some people wouldn't mind, but I think many of us on this thread do mind the scratches, it is annoying after the previous iPhones were so scratch resistant! Too bad because the phone is wonderful otherwise!

Just FYI: I have not read through all 80 pages... but: interesting to see that I am by far not the only one having this issue. Just the other day, while it was nice and sunny outside, I noticed that there were a lot of tiny 'hairline' scratches on the display of my iPhone 6. I thought nothing of it and tried to clean the glass as usual, but the scratches would not go away. You only really see them if it's quite bright and reflecting from the surface.

I'm a little bit upset about that, since I take good care of my gadgets. Hope it does not decrease the value, for I am on a Telstra plan with "New Phone Feeling"... guess might have to have it replaced on warranty by the Apple Store if necessary before getting a new one.

It's a shame... I really like the iPhone 6.

Your experience of getting worse display kind of confirmed my concern that replacement (phone or display) are returned and recertified.

Apple deems them "within spec" anyway, so your replacement might be my return and I'll get a return by someone else on or off this thread.

Due to return, recertify, and reinstall, those display or phone cannot get any better.

That's why genius was eager to replace my screen when I told him mine has a hairline scratch or crack.

Since i have one year window to do it, I'll wait and see if it gets worse or not.

But he did warn me that if crack becomes larger, it might not be covered by warranty (deemed damage instead of defect)

the theory is that only Apple production line is able to crack a hairline - us dummy cannot fathom genius theory anyway!

I had more scratches on my 4S and 5 than I am getting on my 6. Seems a bit strange.

I noticed a scratch near the speaker on my iPhone 6+ on just the second day. I then realized it was from my diamond earring coming into contact with the screen. Now I hold the phone at a slight angle to keep this from happening. Other than that one small scratch my phone is spotless.
