iPhone 6 screen easily scratched?

Have been taking EXTREMELY good care of my 6+, but the corners already have visible scratches. Anyone else experiencing this?

I've not even had my iPhone 6 for a full month yet and scratches are already appearing on the screen. Nothing too major, nothing more than hairline scratches that cover basically the whole screen. They're no problem when the phone is on but when the device is locked, they become most visible. To be honest, the scratches don't affect me while the device is in use but just knowing they're there gives me a quirky feeling. Apple claimed scratch resistance but I guess a claim is a claim. I'm really disappointed with this. I really hope Apple can learn from this, making newer model iPhones better.

You will find that there are many people here complaining about the susceptibility to scratches that were not as likely on iPhone models. However, there are a few people that will tell you that it's your fault for not using a screensaver and essentially will argue against the "susceptibility" issue altogether. I went to the Apple Store over the weekend and the genius was quite aware of the issue as they are repairing iPhone 6+ screens at $129 a whack quite frequently but there is no official word from Apple as they bundled the issue as a cosmetic problem not under warranty rather than any admission that the glass is more likely to scratch. So I tell all my friends with iPhone six models to take the plunge and by a screensaver.

Dear friends,,, I know many of you do baby your iPhones... That's a good thing, I Guess....BUT, keep in mind that the old 5 or 5S had a screen of just 4Inches!!!! The 4,7 and further more the 5,5 are harder to fit in our jeans's pocket, especially if we flex our knees a lot!!! These shatterproof glass does not scratch that easily ( acts mostly as the windshield ) but it does crack when pressured in a fixed point! Most of us tend to believe that it scratched from a metal part on our jeans...... That's what I tought when my 3G got scratched the very next day I've purchased it.. a long time ago... but I was so wrong..... It "scratched" because while holding it in my jeans I did lean on to an office desk just enough to apply the pressure needed for those thiny cracks to appear...

Bottom line: DO NOT carry your 4,7 or 5,5 in your pocket if you bend your knees often , or if you wear slim fit or skinny jeans ( enough pressure develops so that the shatter proof glass .... Shatters 😉

to tell you the truth.... I haven't found a viable way to carry my 6Plus around once the hot days arrive 😉

still opened to suggestions 🙂

Cheers !!!

P.S. I believe screen Protectors for Shatterproof/ Gorilla Glass are BullSh-tt 😉

which is one good reason you should not try putting it into your jeans pocket...

What “shatterproof glass"”?

Bottom line: DO NOT carry your 4,7 or 5,5 in your pocket

Good advice...

Again, what “shatter proof glass” are you referring to?

P.S. I believe screen Protectors for Shatterproof/ Gorilla Glass are BullSh-tt

which is one reason screen protectors are made for all iPhones.

The day you cant put a mobile phone in your pocket because it shouldn't be there due to the stresses and strains of said pocket is the day I think we have taken a huge step back in the idea of 'mobile' phones. Come summer, in my wheelchair in a t-shirt and shorts if I cant put a phone in my pocket I may as well not have one, its simply preposterous to have to baby a device that much. Any phone should live happily in your trouser pockets, if it cant there is something very wrong going on.

Yes! I've had it for less than 2 months and although I've been very careful it already has lots of scratches. It is way too fragile. I had to put a film on the screen to prevent any bigger scratches. My Iphone 5 never had a scratch like that!

Same with my ipod touch 5G, after more than 2 years of use and cleaning the screen daily not a single scratch, before that with my ipod touch 4G things were different but understandable (previous technology) it finished with plenty of scratches, i believed with the 5th generation of these devices scratches were a thing of the past, now i see i'm wrong.

Cosmetic damage has never been covered under Apple's warranty. Why did you not put the iPhone into a case or use a screen protector? Is the best answer seen with this issue. I have seen many people without cases and the owners get upset when they get a crack screen. Oh well the choice is yours, but I have seen a great screen protector for iPhone 6 to avoid issue similar to this. I strongly recommend you to check out Safeguard screen protector, I know you will love the end results. Cheers!

Why? I don't know him but me in my very own personal opinion becuse i considered scratches a thing of the past. I had the impression the 4th generations were the last devices prone to scratches. I wan't expecting a setback in 2015 to be sincere but it happened.

So yeah if you have an iphone 6 buy it a screen protector right away, sad but true.
