iPhone 6 screen easily scratched?

Have been taking EXTREMELY good care of my 6+, but the corners already have visible scratches. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yes, thats what I said. Zero scratches to date. And used everyday as one would normally expect a phone to be used.

What I was getting at is that this is not a common problem, just seems so because these are Troubleshooting Forums. The many millions without issues will not be seen here. Only the few with an issue.

And I'll add to what Pete wrote. I have no scratches on my iPhone 6, nor on the 2nd iPhone 6 in my household. BUT.........at about the 2 month mark, in some ways because of this thread, I chose to put a glass screen protector on both phones. I tried a few, but went with Zagg and have been very happy with it. It doesn't lessen touch, is actually smoother than the iPhone screen itself and is easier to clean. I figure after spending nearly $700 on a phone a case and screen protector are minor costs in comparison and help protect the device.

I was today on my local macstore they thad the iphone 6 exactly under the store lights, i could see many scratches on them.

My personal conclusion regarding this phone is pretty clear:

1) If you care a lot about scratches, don't buy it.

2) or use it and don't complain about them

3) or buy a screen protector.

There are no other options pretty much regarding this model, if one still believes (i did) that only by being careful with the phone you are not gonna get a single one i'd say you are wrong.

and yes Galaxy S6 is also prone to them. Those times with excelent screens like the ipod touch 5 are gone..... but it makes sense small battery and a screen prone to scratches is good for third party selllers: buy a mobi backup battery + screen protector. $$$

My ipod touch 4th (2010) was a a scratch magnet since the beginning, not only the front but the metal back too.

2012 was a great year for me, both devices which i still use, a Galaxy S3 and ipod touch 5 cero scratches up to date.

I thought at that point screen scratches belong to the past i was proved wrong with latest devices from both companies., it's just sad.

I might be buying and iphone 6 and yes i might need to put it a screen protector as soon it gets out of the box.

I have my iPhone 6 now since 5 month and it has contracted lots of micro-scratches (visible and detectable with the fingernail),

despite I have not used it differently than the iPhone 4S that I used for multiple years(!) until then.

I have no diamond rings or stuff like that even near the device.

The iPhone 4S had no scratches until outdated, even though I used it without cover in my pocket.

I am definitely disappointed about this!

On the positive side: The battery life of the iPhone6 is very good.

At this point, I want also to note that I dislike the flat design introduced in iOS7.

I need much more time to find the right button or App icon since this

change and I have to READ each time I want to do something ... but that should go to another thread.

I had my new Iphone6 Plus for 11 days now. After browsing through this thread I carefully check to see if there's any scratches on my iPhone and I finally saw a very small hairline scratch on the screen. However it's incredibly difficult to see it under normal circumstance, and impossible when the phone is on. You have to be able to see the scratch if you are outside or in a well lit room, plus having to view at a slanted angle. For me, it's not a deal breaker since the minor scratch has no effect on me(at least for now). However I will end up putting a screen protector just to be caution.

I only drop the phone one time(had a case on), but it was on a wooden floor, and I never put coins, keys or any sharp object in the same pocket with my iPhone. My phone was always handle with care, and I'm not sure if I was the one that causes the scratch or it was already there before I purchase it.

So like nearly 1400 people actually complaining about this issue and still no official word from Apple?? you would have to think that only about 10% of us will actually take the time to notice it, then be inclined to search for this thread and probably less then that actually write something here...

I have had the iPhone 3G, 4, 4s, 5, 5s and now the 6, the wife has had several of these versions... at no time did I ever take special precautions to protect the screen on any of my phones. Then comes the 6, and within a week I had 2 scratches on the glass, even since then (Knowing that the glass is much more fragile), I have put additional scratches into the glass... somehow...

No, I don't want to put protection on my phone. In years gone by they created flip phones to reduce the size and protect the phone... remember how hard bill worked with corning to make the gorilla glass production ready for his new phone?... then you release a phone with inferior glass and treat your customers like idiots by putting your head in the sand...

At least have the decency to confirm our suspicions that the iPhone 6 glass scratches more easily then previous iPhones, tell us it will be fixed on the next model so that at least your loyal customers can understand that you made a gaf and will fix it in the future...

Where did you pull that figure from? And Apple will not be responding to anything here. 1400 out of tens of millions is not a significant percentage to call it an all round 'flaw'.

Contact Apple if you wish to rant. It's wearing a bit thin here.
