iOS8 / iPhone 6 Landscape Text Problem

Andddd scratch that. The problem persists.

II've had my iPhone 5 for 2 years. I started having these same messenger issues in landscape mode after updating to IOS 8.

I am having the same problem both with a iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 running iOS 8.0.2. Never had this problem before IOS 8 and a reset hasn't helped at all.

I have to rotate back to portrait mode, then back to landscape to get it to work.

Try this fix I found in another thread.

Open compass app. Recalibrate. Reboot the phone.

Seems to have fixed this issue for my iPhone 5

I was having some issues with ITunes and syncing so I restored my phone and direct installed 8.0.2. The problem still persists for me after that software update/install.

I'm having the exact same issue, so it's not just you. I haven't found a fix yet. One suggestion was to disable the Reachability function. I've done that but can't say yet if it fixed the problem. Even if it does, it's not an acceptable fix. Disabling features just to fix a bug is not an acceptable solution. I know Apple doesn't respond much on these threads, but I hope they're reading. There's a problem with this. I was surprised how few people are talking about it.

Yep, that video shows exactly what happens on my phone. Really annoying.

Tried the compass thing but didn't seem to have any effect. And I've had reachability disabled since it started happening in hopes that it might have been causing the issue but—obviously—it isn't. It really is surprising how few people are talking about this because it must be a fairly common bug..

I have had the same experience with any pictures I take. They are always not in the right orientation. I have been given a new iphone6 but now I think it isn't the phone but the software. Better fix it soon.....

I am having the same issue with my iPhone 6 128GB.

I have the exact same phone. I tried the suggestion of opening up the compass and calibrating it by rolling the ball around. Seemed to do the trick for now anyway!! I did have to turn it off completely first and then back on.

I have just discovered a new issue: I am not able to interact with Calendar at all when I switch from Portrait to Landscape mode with Calendar open. However, it works find if I open Calendar with the iPhone in Landscape mode.

Sorry I don't know anything about the calendar. I did look though at mine. It seems when it is in landscape mode you see the individual days that you can scroll up and down on a day and move them ahead or behind. You seem to be able to do more options in portrait mode. I am not sure what I should be expecting!! I got the other advise from someone else and I am happy to pass it along and glad it worked.
