iOS8 / iPhone 6 Landscape Text Problem

I have been experiencing the same issue with my iphone 5 since I upgraded to IOS 8.0.2. I just turned off Reduce Motion in Settings/General/Accessibility/Reduce Motion. So far, so good.

I already had Reduce Motion turned off and am still experiencing these problems on my iPhone 5s upgraded to 8.0.2 so I hate to burst your bubble but I don't think it's likely to be a permanent solution for you 😟

New iOS 8.1 still has some of these issues. I got them like 2 minutes after updating. This is getting ridiculous.

ugh. I was hoping that the issue would be fixed by an update! I just upgraded last night and haven't yet encountered issues, but I'm getting really tired of needing to strategically rotate my phone to avoid the keyboard freezing up.

I'd be going back to Apple and asking them to replace the phone. I had issues with the rotation not occurring with photos but not with texts!!! If they can't fix it at the Genius bar - they will give you a new phone. Just back it up or better yet don't set up new phone from backup - just sync to your iTunes and if your contacts are in the cloud they will all populate - then you might not be backing up a problem. Someone suggested that to me AFTER I had set up a new phone from the back up!! Just a thought - I'm by no means an expert!!

So, it has been over 2 weeks since I semi-resolved my problem -- wanted to wait before posting to be sure. What worked for me? I completely restored my new iPhone 6 and iOS 8.02. I set it up as a new phone. I did NOT use my back-up. Whilst it did not completely resolve it -- it did cut it down to only happen occasionally instead of consistently. I've just updated to 8.1 -- let's see what happens now... 😟

This is clearly a big problem -- why doesn't Apple address it?

I am getting the same issue where I am unable to type in landscape. In addition, there are times when all of my texts (on the right) completely disappear. The reappear when I rotate the phone however I am still unable to type.

I have an iPhone 6 + 128gb and my keyboard hasn't been responding. I've tried resetting, Turn off/on, hard reset. The it solution I've found was replacing the keyboard with SwiftKey. It seems to be a problem with apples keyboard. Anyone else?

REgarding not able to text in landscape mode:

Settings, general,accessibility turn zoom off and reboot. Solved my problem immediately.

It worked for me! (Opening compass app and recalibrating it). Now my landscape keyboard seems to be working. Thanks for that!

Hey! Did this ever get resolved? I have been having the same issue and thought it was hardware, but I just got a new iPhone and the same thing is happening!

I found the calibrating the compass worked for me. I mentioned it to an Apple trainer and she said she hadn't heard of that before but would shake her phone sometimes when occasionally it might get stuck in one orientation. Have not had significant problems since calibrating. I think others have found the same thing.

I think there are a few different issues bundled together in this thread. Some issues, such as touch input freezing upon rotating and the strange voice message recording bug are not fixed by calibrating the compass, or any other tips I've read around here. Have tried them all.

At least those bugs are random, and doesn't happen all the time.

I have the same issue. But, check please...

If you see the left hand is cover the proximity sensor, and that's why the screen is frozen and this is the reason when your left hand is got up and you can write with your right hand...

the proximity sensor is a reason for this fail

APPLE should to say if is hardware or software issue with your videos.
