iPhone 6 BlueTooth issues with iOS8

Ok here is my findings:

Tried 2 iPhone 5 units before iOS8 and no issues with Bluetooth (1 I had for 2 years and no issues in my car). Once updating to iOS8 the bluetooth didn't work well at all for phone calls but music connects fine. Strange issues with the unit automatically start dialling but not able to cancel call until you disconnected bluetooth.

Also incoming calls ring but unable to answer and seem to lock up so you have to disconnect bluetooth to hang up.

I tried everything listed in the forums here and what the Apple reps told me. It works for a short while until the phone gets turned off or synced with iTunes. Now I have a new iPhone 6 with iOS 8 and it worked initially before I started setting things up.

I did not restore from a back up, I started as a new phone. Once I installed all my apps (Not in iTunes, rather manually over the air) and changed settings on the phone (not sure if it because of changing settings or turning the phone off) it would not connect to bluetooth in my car anymore, well it does just for music. I have tried my wife's iPhone 5c and it seems to work fine with my bluetooth so it definitely has nothing to do with my vehicle.

Apple there is a definite issue here. Stop telling me and other people to contact my car manufacturer to fix the issue. It all worked fine before iOS 8. Something needs to be done ASAP or I will be returning my phone and jumping ship to an Android or Windows phone as much as that may pain me. I have been a loyal Apple customer for the last 7 years. If this is how you are going to treat me and other loyal customers, you will not keep us for long.

I am hoping someone from Apple is reading this. If so I am expecting to be contacted. We expect a resolution fast!

Sorry but that doesn't cut it. Both my iPhone 5's worked on my 2014 Mazda CX-5 up until the iOS 8 update. Car manufacturers have nothing to do with this. This is an Apple iOS problem. Stop telling people it's their cars.

What company in their right mind would create a product that was so far advanced that we would have to replace our vehicles to use it? It's such a stupid idea. Forget the cars. They are not the issue.

Such BS - The phone is pared correctly but with Bluetooth it takes a minimum of 15 seconds to dial a # and most of the time 30-45 seconds. I can drive almost 1/2 a mile on the freeway before I even hear the other party. I am going to try with my sons iphone 5 which also has ios8 to see if I still have the problem. If not I am going back to my 5s and most likely away from apple to another manufacturer like Samsung.

I Called Apple 3x today, and when they found out what my issue was, they said please wait for a brief 2 minute hold which turned into 34, and a new CSR needing me to repeat the info. Told her what happened, she said reboot and she would call me back. Rebooted, no call back in the last 7 hrs. This is an obvious problem that, surprisingly, I got more attention from ATT after being shafted by Apple, although nothing has worked. Same issue, BT works streamimg music, but when BT is on, and the phone rings or you make a call, the phone is as useful as a brick, no sound from anywhere, unless you disable BT on the phone. then and only then, can you use the phone.... A rotten Apple 6, and this is with the "new" ios update released today, Thursday 9/26/2014.... ******!!!!

Same here. 4s Bluetooth failures. Deleted all re-paired and same mess. Worked like a charm prior to ios8. Have to think it's more an ios8 Issue vs iPhone 6 issue. even had identical failures in a Buick rental car today. Common denominator is ios8. Iphone 6 folks I wouldn't panic about thr hardware as it's even really messing up established well working 4 s phones. Both wife and I have identical failures on our 4s phones. Apple you guys please get your act together

I found a another problem tonight with my iphone 6. My Garmin navigation app no longer speaks the directions through Bluetooth in the car. it interrupts the music like it's about to speak then dead silence. I took my old deactivated iphone 5s also running IOS8 and tried the same navigation program and the directions come out via Bluetooth. Come on Apple with over 8000 complaints about the Bluetooth problem get it together. You've got a big problem with the iphone6. Mine is going back if there isn't some sense of Apple looking to fix these problems as opposed to denying they exist.

iOS 8 has a major bluetooth issue.

My 5S worked perfectly in my cars before iOS8. I have an 2012 Audi Q7 and 2014 BMW 3 Series.

I tried resetting settings, delete all pairings, in Audi i can get iphone connected only if i turn bluetooth OFF and then ON after 5-10 seconds.

In BMW works a little better but it gets disconnected from bluetooth from time to time, for no obvious reason.

I switvhed to iPhone 6 few days ago and i have the same problems.

I am also using a Pebble Watch which is connected on BT but it gets notifications from iPhone from time to time, randomly and many times with a huge delay.

Notification is a DISASTER in iOS8, if i play with the phone and i see the Mail icon badged for a new message, i open the app, read message, hit reply and then i get the banner in the upper screen for the new mail, it has sometimes a huge delay.

It happened to me many times to get the notification banner on the screen and after i dismiss it, 10 seconds later i get the sound notification which suppose to come together with the banner.

I am so frustrated at this point i have no words to describe it, i am using iPhone since iPhone 1 came on the market but this never happened.

I will write in a different thread the list of all the apps which crashed on me. Even calendar on ios 8 crashes if i try to add an entry with end time the day after.......

even spoke to national car rental. They said most of their call ins referencing any issues are about iPhones no longer working properly under Bluetooth platform. We're on a trip now, have a brand new Buick and the Bluetooth functions all fail under iphone EXCEPT music on phone beams to car fine, phone calls do the craziest things but none work. Worst yet the symptoms are IDENTICAL to that on my Ford F-150 with SYNC. And of course before ios8 all was normal

APPLE APPLE APPLE WHERE ARE .YOU. Even to admit there is an issue you be responsible but to remain silent is grounds for anger and potential switching to an android platform.

I Too am fed up with Apple support! I have never had a problem fixed. The customer service and treatment is horrible and has gotten worse. I have also been a loyal customer for a very long time and am thinking about returning my device for a galaxy. I have battery drainage and several other issues. Set up took a really long time with major issues even with hours of phone time with support. Nothing was resolved. I hung up and started from scratch. What is the point of all of the new, great stuff if you can't use it due to glitches or having to turn it off to save battery life. They are getting it wrong!

Afternoon All. I've just updated my Apple 6 to iOS 8.0.2 hoping it would solve the bluetooth issue I am having with my Range Rover Sport, but it didn't. I then updated the iPhone 5S that I have to iOS 8.0.2 and it did solve it on that one. I also noticed that the 5S showed the RRS and all the other items I have had it connected to over the past, so I think the 5S' bluetooth is 'perfect' and it is definitely the 6's bluetooth that is the issue.

As per the majority, I would say that this has absolutely nothing to do with going to your car manufacturer/dealer as they should not be responsible for sorting out an issue with the hardware/software of another company. Having been a confirmed and dedicated MacHead since 1992, I am now considering taking the iPhone 6 back for a full refund if they do not resolve the issue in the next update. TO APPLE: Come on Apple .... it is definitely something to do with the architecture/firmware of the iPhone 6 and needs sorted VERY quickly otherwise I (as will many others no doubt) will go back to previous models.

As with many here, I have experienced Bluetooth problems with the new iOS. I cannot connect to my car (Nissan) nor to a new Cambridge audio system with Bluetooth under iOS 8.0.2 and new iPhone 6+. Bluetooth on the new iPhone is unable discover any other devices whereas both my 4s and Mini have no connection issues whatsoever. This is frustrating, as you all have noted.

Get it together, Apple! This is a MAJOR inconvenience and annoyance. I use my iPhone constantly with the Bluetooth in my car and with my home cordless phone system. I too have been a loyal Apple customer for over 20 years, and am sick and tired of the half baked updates of the past few years. Maybe we should get away from the expected yearly hype of software and hardware systems in favor of GETTING IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! Take responsibility and get it fixed immediately!
