Aactually that's NOT what was announced by Apple at the keynote regarding the new iPads. What was announced in the upcoming iOS 8.1 ... were some new features. Take a look here and you can see for yourself ...
I've seen the keynote, thanks. My point - though maybe not stated clearly enough for you - was that the HARDWARE is not in need of repair.
Some people are simply ASSUMING there may be some "bug fixes" in that upcoming revision.
I'm not assuming anything. I know there are fixes included. You have only to be a developer - or read the leaked 8.1 change logs. It's all there in black and white that Apple is fixing bugs in iOS 8.1.
But those would be ONLY those that Apple engineers had actually identified and had worked out fixes for.
This part of your retort is rather odd. Who would assume Apple would be capable of fixing anything they don't know about?
AS we've already seen here on this forum, there are many users fixing the operation of their iPads ... which has absolutely nothing to do with Apple changing or revising iOS 8.0.2. The following is an examole of one such case ...
It's true the performance issues people are complaining about in this and other threads are only marginally linked to problems in iOS. The issue lies in upgrading over an older version of iOS. iDevices are affected by collected garbage just like desktop and notebook computers. It's smart to start fresh for every major iOS upgrade.
That link to your own post in another thread offers solid advice that has been offered by others as well. If those suffering from performance issues on iPad 2 follow those steps, they should see very good performance improvements. Admittedly, it's a bit of work though.
