Another reason for not putting it in your front pocket, if you believe SAR has any significance, is that any phone should be kept at least 1/4" away from your skin, as that is the distance that SAR measurements are made. If it is closer or in contact with your skin the SAR is much higher. Something to think about keeping in mind what is close to your front pockets.

Then there's pocket lint, which is a common cause of charging and syncing problems when it gets into the lightning connector on the bottom of the phone and headset problems when it gets into the audio jack.

I have no idea where your "most males" comes from. I took a poll in my office and the 30 males I asked all carry it in a belt case. None in their front pocket.

I thought I'd toss in one last post now at two weeks out and give everyone an update.

Again your mileage may very, but this is what I experienced.

A couple days after my last post, I received my case, put the phone in it, and it's been riding around in my pocket since as before. Last night I popped it out very carefully and it seems the case has straightened out the bend to some degree. It's an Incipio case with a tight fitting rubber frame and then a stiff polycarbonate shell that snaps over it.

It's no longer discernible that the phone was bent by eye alone, but it still rocks when placed on a flat surface, so it's not totally straight either. But you can't see the bend to it like you could before. And once again, my phone was bent only *very slightly*, but it was clear that is was not straight.

I did watch Apples videos on their testing and the only thing that I can say is they always applied pressure to the center of the case. Not sure if they ran tests at different points or not, but that might account for some of this. Mine started to bend at the bottom volume button.

It's also become apparent after two weeks that the issue is not going to be as wide spread or as much of a problem as I certainly thought it would be. At the time, I believed with what I saw after just four days, it really would become a major issue.

I still believe there is a problem there, but it looks like it's not going to amount to much. Again, only time will really tell. I doubt however even if there are failures the rate will rise high enough that it will be labeled as an issue with the phone given the number sold.

I'm set for the moment though and my phone will continue to live in a case at all times in my front pocket (it's already gotten dropped onto the floor from a counter because it wasn't in my pocket).

Hopefully it will last four years just as my iPhone4 did.

FWIW,

Jim.

I had my iPhone 6 for six days and today it bent in my loose pocket how or when I have no idea but I pulled out my iPhone just so confused by the amount it was bent. I took it to the apple store and the "genius" i talked to basically told me I was a liar and that there is no way the phone could have bent in my pocket it would take extreme force. No one will ever believe it just bent in your pocket without doing something dumb like sitting on it until it happens to them, I didn't and now i had to pay 80$ to replace my 600$ phone that wasn't even a week old. I have bought every iPhone that has come out and own a lot of other apple products and have always been a big supporter of apple, however today has left me extremely disappointed in apple!User uploaded file
