Is that your phone in the photograph then? You haven't said........
yes that is my iPhone it wasn't in my back pocket I didn't lean up against anything, imagine just doing your normal daily routine with your iPhone in your pocket like it has been for years and just pulling out your phone to see it bent like that.
i had my iphone 6, 16GB, for 3 days exactly. it is visibly bent by the volume buttons (identical to other bends i have seen) took it back to my provider who contacted apple. apparently 'bending' is not covered by warranty and i have been told I am looking at over $400 nzd to get it 'repaired'. which basically means getting the phone replaced with a refurbished model. This is an absolute joke. How apple can say this is NOT COVERED BY MANUFACTURERS warranty is absurd. no other phone manufacturer would say such rubbish. how many bent phones does it take for apple to do something?!?!?! I just want my phone replaced with a new one, easy
and just for everyone else to know, i have not had it in jeans at all, tight pockets etc, it was barely used as i have two phones and this was my personal device which only gets used in evenings.
benim telefon ekran 1 kere Yere düştü ettik Kırıldı. iphone Artık kalitesizmi? ekranlarda sorun var
I have no idea how many (reports say that we are at 10 now) but I do know that the other 10 million didn't bend. So I wonder why yours did?
Is this the whole story or did you miss something out?
You sound like the Apple reps I've been dealing with. I wish I had missed something out. That's the whole story. As someone who has used iPhone since the 4 I was expecting the same problem free experience I'd had previously
I don't know what's more irritating ; the fact the phone has bent or the fact so many people are treating me like a liar. Except for the people in the store (my provider here in new Zealand) which signals to me they've seen this a few times already.
Bend it back.
Pete
And also wasn't it the 6 plus where the bending issue was acknowledged. I haven't seen any public statements from Apple in regards to the 6 bending. However a rep in the yoobee store (basically apple store since we don't have apple stores in new zealand) said mine was the 3rd he'd seen since launch in new Zealand which was the 25th of Sept.

No, the 6 plus is actually the stronger of the 2 and neither has a bending issue (in normal use) the pressure required to bend a 6+ is 90bs + a little less for a 6. (as tested and confirmed by consumer reports)
Now you show me what you read that says it has been acknowledged.
Tests have been done on many smart phones since bendgate came to light, and the HTC ONE M8 was actually shown to bend with less pressure than the iPhone 6 Plus.
If your phone bends, you've done something to bend it. It takes force to bend these things. If you're saying your iPhone bent through normal day to day use, you're just lying and nothing you say can convince me otherwise.
With a response like that there is no reason for me to continue on this thread.
All I'm wanting is a new/boxed replacement. Meanwhile I'll just keep waiting.....
Because it's abuse.
Testing by several independent labs has shown it takes substantial force to bend an iPhone 6, something that won't just occur by accident.

How did you apply such a large force to the phone without even noticing? You must realise that is very hard to accept with no explanation. It didn't just happen, it was caused. That question is going to come up.
I believe you because I experienced more or less the same thing. To Csound1 and McGreevious and those that think this is not a problem, please read (or re-read) my posts earlier in this thread. I did absolutely nothing to cause the phone to bend, treating it the same way as I had my iPhone4. In my case the bending was very slight, but there was no doubt it was bent. You could visually see it looking at the phone edge on.
At this point I don't think the problem is widespread and don't think it ever will be, but it does seem something is going on that wasn't discovered in Apple's testing. One thing that's been pointed out already is that the tests shown from Apple all were being done at the center of the case. It may turn out to be that pressure needs to be exerted at a very specific point on the case, I don't know. One report I've seen analyzed the brace that is around the buttons and has pointed out that if pressure was applied in the right place, the screw it's anchored with would act as a pivot point. That may be part of the answer, but then again may not.
I can honestly say though with certainty that I treated my phone well, did nothing out of the ordinary, and it bent after three days of having it.
The proof whether Apple is aware of this and thinks it is a real problem or not will be simple; we'll see a re-design of the case in later models.
Jim.
No need to be condescending, I read your posts.
I imagine that the few people who have bent their phone will (a) claim that they treated their phone well and (b) assume that their word is all that is needed.
I hope that works out for you, but the extremely low numbers of bent phones looks like a user caused bend to me.
