Looks like iOS 8.0.1 broke my ability to make a phone call and touch ID on my iPhone 6+. Hope there is an iOS 8.0.2 in the next few hours.
Only occurs with iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. If you are eager to fix you can restore and update through iTunes which seems to solve the problem. Hopefully Apple will have an update by end of the day.
if you download the ipsw for ios 8.0 then shift and press update in itunes and select the ios 8.0 restore file it will revert you back to ios 8.0 WITHOUT wiping any of your info hope this helps
Will restore but still has 8.1 with no network
Contacted Apple Support and they recommended a restore in recovery mode.
1. Turn iPhone OFF and disconnect from USB
2. Push Homebutton & ON
3. Connect USB cable
4. Restore (8.0 will be downloaded and installed)
I am now restoring from an iTunes backup from last Friday. Even an 8.0.1 iCloud backup from Today may work, I have not tested it though.
Where did you download ipsw ios 8.0.0? I was using this site but the download failed multiple time. http://osxdaily.com/2014/09/17/ios-8-ipsw-download/
I would not recommend using this download though they do give you the step to follow. Let me know the site you used, please.
I Got it off a similar site just download the iPhone 6 ipsw or plus version then manual update to that file literally phone fixed in less then 10 minutes STOP REstoring YOUR PHONES!

Same here, mine is still saying searching. Not workIng Apple people! And I am waiting to chat with AppleCare. Why not print out a procedure that will work and publish that in Bold Print on the Apple site!

Yup. 6+ no touch ID, not service. Good work Apple. Better get an update out there quick since doing a full restore is a pain in the butt.
This is infuriating! Can't make calls, no touch id, and I don't have a home computer... I thought the cloud was suppose to replace that! ****...

Running on a iPhone 6 Plus.
backup your phone to icloud put your iphone 6 into recovery mode and restore to its ios8 startup phone from icloud backup.. Done works fine
