iPhone 6 Plus bend

There is no response and it's VERY unlikely there will be one. This is simply ridiculous. Anything made out of aluminum can bend. HTC phones can bend. Samsung phones can bend. iPhone 5 phones can bend. And yes, the iPhone 6 phone can bend - IF YOU PUT ENOUGH PRESSURE ON IT.

Don't put your phone in your pocket and then sit down. Shouldn't need to be said but apparently it does.

I am worried about the bending as well, I have had a HTC phone and carried it in the pocket for a year and it is unscathed, but I do not "sit" on it. Would a case be an answer? I have not received my 6 plus yet. I am thinking of cancelling if this is gong to be a problem. Any ideas out there?

Yes, put it in a nice durable case and stop worrying. And a case will help keep your phone in pristine condition and increase it's value when you're ready for your next phone.

Hello Apple fan boy. i have a 6 Plus also have had the 5S and others my 5S if 1 year old guess what its not bent nor did any other iPhone i have never had any damage done to any of them and even after 1 year my warranty claims always come under "like new" my 6 Plus bent in 3 days i never dropped it once or put it in my back pocket or done anything to physically damage it. Apple fan boys like you would never accept a design floor in a Apple product because you a blind sheep that worship them. The aluminum is the same thickness for both the 6 and 6 plus but the 6 plus has a massive area that causes the leverage to double hence reduces its bending threshold by 50%. i like iPhone's so you cant say i'm a hater i don't like androids but this is a design floor. its like Justin Bieber fans saying he is a angel when he is a little **** you and them are too blind to see the truth.

I think that I have the right answer for the bending issue please let the apple team know about me I can help theme out solving this problem that I predicted once I saw Mr. Tim talking about the thickness of the phone, thank you.

so I have had my 6 plus for a week. Use it constantly, and carry it in my pocket. Please explain why I havent had any warping or bending, While you apparently did "nothing" and warped your phone. thanks

Hi Guys, recently purchased the iPhone 6 plus and work with it everyday. I own a landscape/masonry company and have not had a problem. I do a lot of lifting, digging and use heavy equipment with it in my front and back pocket with no issues. I just put a case on it to keep it from getting dusty, but I would assume if you sat on any phone it would at least crack the glass.

Anyway, love the phone and will keep working with it

So, it just 'bent' all by itself? It was sitting on your table, minding it's own business, and it started to bend?

You did something to put some kind of pressure on the device. It doesn't just 'bend' on it's own.

And as Carl said, you shouldn't be quoting engineering principles when you have no understanding of them.

Engineering principles expert or not, if the phone is larger more force can be exerted and there will be a greater chance of damage. That is physics.

That being said. I have a 6 + on order. I have had every iphone, and carried every single one of them in my front pocket and I have never had any issue with damage. I don't wear skinny jeans, but i do wear jeans. I expect a smart phone to be carried in your pants pocket, and therefore that phone should be built to withstand being carried in my front pocket without damage. I would also expect a judge or jury in a class action lawsuit to expect the same. I would also think that putting your phone in your back pocket and sitting on it would probably go beyond what someone would reasonably expect a phone to withstand.

So, if my iphone 6+ bends in my front pocket, I would simply go right down to the Apple store and ask for a new one. And if that one failed I would go right back to the apple store and ask them to either refund my money or give me a 6 and the difference in price between the two. Unless, of course, apple comes out with a statement that says you cannot carry the iphone 6+ in your pocket.

Of course I must add, this summer my buddy had a motorola droid, carried it in his front pocket, and it bent, He returned it, got another and it bent too, so he returned that and got an iphone 5s, which didn't bend.

Disgusted that Apple somehow failed to test the new iPhones in real world conditions. Is it arrogance or ignorance? Either way, heads should roll for this. I will be holding off on my purchase of the iPhone 6 until Apple fixes this issue. I've never had a phone bend in my pocket and don't plan on buying one that does.

Good for you. You'll make someone who is smart enough to realize this is all hooey, very happy as there will be one less person ahead of them to get their phone.
