iPad Air since iOS 8: Apps not updating and downloading no longer possible. Fix?

This problem only really started in the past couple days. I can no longer update apps, cannot download books from the store in the books app and cannot download newspapers in my newsstand. Also, my Adobe reader for iPad open but shows a blank page for 15 seconds before closing and returning to my iPad home screen.

Previous to this, the first few days of iOS 8 did not give me problems, though I had not yet tested all of the above items but apps updated easily for first few days (until 22 sept). Is there a fix?

(A) Try reset iPad

Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

Note: Data will not be affected.

(B) Try reset all settings

Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings

Note: Data will not be affected but settings for Wi-Fi, FaceTime, Message, Home Sharing will be reset

if someone from Apple is monitoring this thread, let's be clear: when the software gets in this mode all Apple downloads are hung. Music, books, apps, match, everything fails to work. Further, whatever download manger you have, continues to spin in the background attempting to download whatever until you go kill the hung 'thing' (bye, bye battery). Once it is hung, various reboot/restart tricks get you out this for a while, but it always comes back. I realize that there are many problems with this release, but for me this has been a real pain.

i just did the downgrade and it worked fine except one important thing……the article in OSXDaily that described the step by step process to do the downgrade insists as step one we do a backup of the device before doing the downgrade…..only problem is that this overwrites the backup from version 7 that I already had there so now that I downgraded, I have to reset up everything (since you obviously cannot backup iOS8 files to an iOS7 iPad, which he mentions but STILL says to do the backup as step one), not to mention that I have now lost all my notes taken in Pages from the past year's worth of meetings.

I know I am not a techie and that is why i followed step by step. I suppose the writer left out that KEY information. arrrrggghhhh. I have had to reselect my apps and in the process of re-signing into all my apps that have passwords but the worst is the lost pages docs.

I have not been able to update apps, download new apps, download purchased content thru iTunes to my iPad mini since early September 23. This is the first time I have been significantly affected by being an early adapter to new iOS. I hope Apple takes not and fixes this soon. This hasn't affected my iPhone 5s yet.

Just adding my name to the list so Apple knows this is an issue. Can't download or update apps on an iPad Air. Tried all the reccomended fixes except setting up as a new iPad. Hopefully 8.0.2 fixes the issue. haven't been able to connect to the update server but hopefully this changes soon.

I appreciate you saying that this corrects it but I am still going to stay with my downgraded iOS7 until I hear after at least a week that users are not having the problem.

I am still annoyed at the article that said to do a backup on iOS8 before downgrading because it meant the backup overwrote my iOS7 backup and hence I could not recover my data, the most important was my Pages meeting notes from the past year. All my Adobe files are back because I had them elsewhere (pdf, hence is an image of a doc and not the original) but my pages docs were created on my ipad and I was not diligent enough to send them to my desktop. (if someone here know how to recover files from an iOS8 backup not being used - I still have my iOS8 backup file and am resisting doing a backup again until I hear if there is a solution)

I did the update to iOS8.02 on my iPhone 6 and in looking at the details of the update, there is no mention of fixing any issues on iPad. I imagine the gravity of the issue for iphones was a top priority since having a 'bricked' new iPhone 6/6 Plus is a greater emergency for Apple than not being able to download or access certain apps on an iPad.

The iOS 8.02 update details only talks about iPhone problems. Hence, I fear those who have had the iPad issue discussed in this thread may have a similar few days of no problems with the new version 8.02 then will revert to not being able to download or update or access apps like Adobe, just as was the patter on the original iOS8.

I hope Apple does tackle this issue quickly. I will watch here to see if anyone starts reporting a 'normal' experience on ipad after a week of having iOS8.xx before I re-upgrade.

This has to be the most frustrating thing for days, at least 2, apps will not update or download. Tried rebooting twice nothing just sits and hangs. Apple so disappointing in you all. This plus 8.01 mess up. Fix the problems. Apps are crashing, screen on iPhone 6+ goes to black. What's up? Starting to feel like MSFT OS.
