iPad Air since iOS 8: Apps not updating and downloading no longer possible. Fix?

This problem only really started in the past couple days. I can no longer update apps, cannot download books from the store in the books app and cannot download newspapers in my newsstand. Also, my Adobe reader for iPad open but shows a blank page for 15 seconds before closing and returning to my iPad home screen.

Previous to this, the first few days of iOS 8 did not give me problems, though I had not yet tested all of the above items but apps updated easily for first few days (until 22 sept). Is there a fix?

(A) Try reset iPad

Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

Note: Data will not be affected.

(B) Try reset all settings

Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings

Note: Data will not be affected but settings for Wi-Fi, FaceTime, Message, Home Sharing will be reset

Thank you for your reply. I tried that and for Adobe Reader, it worked at first but then once I closed my apps (by swiping up after pressing home key twice) then reopened Adobe Reader, the same issue arose again. I do not want to have to reset my iPad each time I want to use Adobe! It was a temoprary solution that I can use in a pinch for my documetns when traveling but is only a temporary fix.

However, the reset did not solve any of the problems of downloading updates or books from the Apple books app.

Hence, bottom line is that I am still without a solution!

I read somewhere that you cannot downgrade to iOS7. I sure hope Apple is reading these because it is frustrating that I cannot get the books on their very own books store that I have paid for! More frustrating is not being able to download or update anything new.

I will point out that this is specific to iPad because my iPhone has no updating issues nor downloading issues (it is a new iPhone 6, so not sure if older models have problem).

I hope a full restore will not be necessary. The only saving grace to doing that is that I did a full backup right before upgrading to iOS8 so should have relatively minimal impact for me.....I think.

let me just underline that I'm having the same troubles as described in the above. Same story: new apps download / existing apps upgrade worked fine for a couple of days after ios8 release then stopped or perhaps moved on in a bumpy way after some fiddling such us connecting to iTunes over my PC, soft resetting (which is fairly annoying anyway , owing to long PWs to be re-entered, ...). Adobe Reader completely went out with blank, empty, stalling screen- obviousy Ihad to throw away quite a few docs . Quick fix by Apple is BADLY NEEDED, hope these nice fellows drop an eye on that. Cheers, Pier.
