iPhone 6 WiFi Issue

I currently own an iPhone 6 Verizon and I get WiFi speed around 1 Mbps. I know it's not my router because the WiFi works perfectly fine on my laptop and my Dad's Galaxy Note 3. I have reset the network settings couple of times, and even though it would get my regular speed back for half an hour or so, it would decline to around 1 Mbps. I have also tried forgetting the network and reconnecting, but the same thing with the previous problem happens. The WiFi networking is off, and my phone is running iOS 8.0.2.

I don't know. Like I said earlier, when I did my original upgrade to 8.0.2 on my iPhone 6 and my iPad mini retina, I did them at the same time. The only difference between the two was the iPhone 6 updated using iTunes and my iPad was done over the air. My iPad never had any issues with Wi-Fi. So that's what made me think that I needed to do it over the air update on my iPhone 6 as well.

Curious about some of the details of your WiFi router. My family has iPhone 6, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. My Verizon iPhone 6 has not had problems with our home WiFi, either with dropouts or with throughput. I have 20Mpbs service and my speed test apps running on my iPhone 6 show performance that's consistent with what our laptops and other phones report (about 16MB/s). Our home WiFi is served up by two Time Capsules.

i tried your suggestion of updating OTA to 8.02, i updated on the replacement iphon6 it was preloaded with 8 but wasn't updated to 8.02 yet it had the little icon or whatever its called on settings icon but i have been scared to update, so i did it after i got off work, when i connected to my wifi at 12:31 am i got a speedtest of 9.86 mbps went online and watched a 30 sec video trailer on some new show called gotham, got an error message 10 sec into video, i then closed youtube opened my speediest app ran it at 12:33 am and got a speedtest of 0.61 mbps, no change. but thank you for your help.

I have similar WIFI problem too. I was an android user and I had no problem at all with my router at home and in the office.

But after switching to iPhone 6 , most of the time I see spinning circle but nothing load up. The app will give an error about the network at last.

How is it possible apple made so many mistakes to release 8.0, 8.0.1 and now 8.0.2. (I am on 8.0.2).

I really like the design and the OS(before 8.0), but now this phone is almost unusable.

Thats great that your update to 8.0.2 has been working great, but as i go back and look at your posts you say that you don't have a wifi issue.

8.0.2 was a patch for cellular connectivity, touch id and the health kit app, not for the wifi issue a lot of people are having with this wifi problem including myself with 3 new iPhone 6's plus a replacement iPhone 6, and not just on my home wifi but every wifi router that i try to connect to, even the apple store wifi router, thats the reason they replaced my new iPhone because they watched how the iPhone reacted to their store wifi.

Maybe i should switch to Verizon, My phones are on AT&T's network and i can't do anything web based with it, i'll just keep bringing them back to apple till i get what i paid for, an iPhone that works correctly, my phones have not worked from day one, and i bet a lot of others haven't worked from day one but we were all probably rebooting our routers and modems for 3 or 4 days not realizing that wasn't the problem, its apples problem with software or hardware or a combination of both.

and they still haven't addressed the problem

The DNS 8.8.8.8 option seemed to fix the Wi-Fi losing activity on my iPhone 6 Plus (UK) but it didn't resolve the Wi-Fi just dropping out fully. Even with the new DNS setting on my phone's connections ( not from the router) the Wi-Fi dropped out fully and would not find anything when searching unless I restarted the phone. This is a big issue and very annoying. Does anyone think the Wi-Fi cutting out and not being able to find networks is a hardware issue or still related to 8.0.2?

Has anyone found a temporary fix for the Wi-Fi completely cutting out?

Just to note when the Wi-Fi does work I have never had slow speeds. Its always blazing fast.

Any comments / suggestions would be appreciated.

I have hiccups all the time..some short others long. I also experienced once when wifi cut out and could no longer find networks till after I rebooted the device.

I do not experience any lag with my wifi on 8.0.2. Really depends where I am in relationship to the location of the router. I have an Airport Extreme running with WPA2 as security. The router is about 5 years old.

This issue is really looking like a software issue in the micro code for the wireless chip. The chip also supports the new 802.11ac protocol. So there is new territory being explored and there could be hand shake problems with the ac chip and older routers. Just my gut feeling.

I have this exact same issue with the iPhone 6 Plus. After numerous calls to AppleCare several resets and restore restores from backup, restore as new, and visits to the Genius Bar at the Apple store, Apple dose not appear to have an answer yet. This is happening on all Wi-Fi networks home, Xfinity, Apple Store, and Starbucks. It does not appear to be related to the Wi-Fi network in use. I have been asked to give it a week and see if it gets better but somehow I do not think this is going to work. The Apple Store has even replace my phone and I still experience the same issues.

What am I missing?

if thats the case that you think its my isp or my router or my modem, well then the whole city has to upgrade all their equipment because my 4 iPhones cannot connect anywhere and download anything web based, on any wifi system and that includes the apple store wifi but my 3 iPhone 5's have no problem or my 2 iPad 2's have no problem, i cannot connect with my iPhone 6 at work but i can connect my iPad 2 and run my sling player app for four hrs nonstop with out losing the wifi connection, monday night football.

maybe as a last resort i can test on your speedy wifi network and see how it goes, Lol

this is not good, and still apple hasn't addressed this issue, maybe the people with this issue with their new iPhones need to start bringing them back to the store for replacements, i have a second appointment this week for my daughters iPhone 6 will keep bringing them back and getting new ones until i get three that work or they address the issue.
