I've owned all iPhone models (3, 4, 5 and now 6). I must say that the iPhone 6 is a piece of s***!
I never had problems connecting to my home wifi network with the previous models, but the new iPhone 6 constantly drops out of my wifi network and I cannot do anything with it without having to use the AT&T data plan when I am at home!
I found out that SEVERAL other iPhone 6 owners are having the same issue! Some guy suggested that we need to use WPA or WPA2 setting and NOT WEP in order for the iPhone 6 to work. I agree with this because my office wifi network uses WPA and the iPhone 6 seems to work ok with the wifi.
I think this is a very poor job by Apple in testing their products! Their iPhone should work with ALL wifi settings and not just one!
Apple now only wants to make more money by releasing their products quickly and, as a result, did not test their products carefully.
We, the consumers, end up with a piece of s**t!
As I stated, the wifi encryption being used is not the solution to the problem. Any "fix" is either coincidental or temporary. Others, like me, continue to have the problem even when using WPA or WPA2. Think about it, can you change the security encryption settings on a public wifi hotspot? Nope. So, as with previous models (and with just about any hardware that uses wifi) encryption should not keep it from connecting unless it is dinosaur device that uses early wifi. Also, as somebody has pointed out, it is not the device, as all devices that updated to iOS 8 are having the same problem.
