Why does iOS 8.0.2 not resolve the issue of WiFi connectivity with iOS 8 and the new iPhone 6?

My iPhone 6 is still randomly disconnecting from my home WiFi, even after the latest OS update. My spouse also has an iPhone 6 and has experienced no issues with WiFi connectivity. When I spoke with Apple earlier in the week, I was told that they were aware of this issue with iOS 8 and would be working on a solution that should be released in 24 hours. I have a $700+ phone that doesn't stay connected to WiFi. Ridiculous. Apple really needs to get it together. This is the worst OS release yet.

Running 8.0.2 on my 6 plus now, no WIFI or phone problems.

Ok after following for weekend and two days this week i got adventuresom with my new 6 Plus (of course 8 is backed up on itunes so I could go back as no problems with 8.0.0) , I have found my ipad air 128 no problems with 8.0.2. My 6 plus 128 no problems with factory 8.0 so I put 8.0.2 and it runs as good as factory 8 no problems so far. Have not backed up though to itunes yet so I could go back to my 8.0 backup.

Speeds on speed test no improvement at work high speed fiber (60 Mbps down average, 30 Mbps up, this is compared to my iPad air 128 with 140 Mbps down and 30 Mbps up on 8.0.2.

Come on, Apple, you're better than this. Wifi shouldn't be an issue...seriously.

I've noticed mine drop completely, maybe twice over last couple days. When I go into wifi settings there is just the little wheel spinning as if it is looking for a connection. So far a simple reboot does the trick. Last night it dropped and I went into general>reset and I chose 'reset network settings'. Phone shut down, I rebooted, searched for connection and re-entered my wifi password. Haven't lost it in last 12-15 hours. So we'll see.

Just really hoping for a newer update in the near future that will resolve what shouldn't be a problem to begin with.

I got a used iphone 5c for my daughter with IOS8 already installed. Needless to say, I returned it because of the wifi problems that other people are having.. It would find a network, connect to it but, I couldn't get on the internet at all. Also, it would drop the connection. I tried resetting the network settings, turning off wifi networking. None of it worked. 😠 Apple really needs to be reading their own forums for these types of posts.

Just so folks know there is hope until Apple brings out a fix, we have a iPhone 5s, 6, and iPads 3 and 4.

They all seem to be connecting fine. (I'm only on this topic because I was searching for something else.)

We do connect to an Airport Extreme, and we are using an alternate DNS, (Open DNS) though I don't see how that would make a difference offhand. But people have mentioned both these issues.

One this a lot of the fixes have in common is just making changes, whether in settings or resetting. Never hurts to reset after a major update.

It is hard to feel how widespread this problem is, (people without the problem are mostly not going to post), but it doesn't help if it is relatively rare if it affects you.

Good luck folks.
